How long have you’ve competed in lumberjack sports?
Since 1988

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
I started in 1988 at the State University of NY, College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF), in Syracuse, NY. I joined the “Woodsmen’s Team” there after seeing a contest and wanting to try it.

How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
Weight and conditioning training at the gym, sprints when I have lots of energy, and just going through the events - that’s the best way.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series discipline?
Probably the underhand chop, but I have occasionally put up good runs in the stock saw.

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing on the Series?
Take advice from anyone who will give it. That doesn’t mean you should do everything people say but if someone takes the time to tell you something, you should take it as a sign that they believe you have potential. Also, you have to keep showing up if you want to win.
