How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
My father competed on the Nichols College Woodsmen's team during the early 1960s and competed on the pro circuit afterwards. He was very good in the underhand cutter. I was aware of lumberjack sports when I attended Colby College and saw the woodsmen team.

When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports and the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I began competing in lumberjack sports when I attended Colby College and joined the Woodsmen's Team. My first major contest was the Lumberjack World Championships during 1992. My first year on the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series was sometime during the late 1990's.

How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other lumberjack competitions?
I train the chopping and sawing events as much as possible. During the winter months I weight train at a local gym.

Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?

Best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series discipline:
My best discipline is the Underhand Chop. My strongest discipline is the Hot Saw.

Any advice for the collegiate competitors?
Learn and understand the fundamentals.

What pro athlete/celebrity would you like to see try one of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series disciplines?
It would be pretty awesome to see the Mountain from the Game of Thrones chop a log.
