Job: Tonewood sales manager at Hearne Hardwoods Inc. and brand ambassador for Armstrong Flooring
Interests: I love to be outside and I enjoy nearly anything competitive. My favorite things to do are hike, ride horses, hunt, fish, paint, travel and explore the world. Any one of these things becomes even more special if it can be experienced with friends or family.

How long have you competed in lumberjack sports?
I have competed professionally in lumberjack sports since 2013.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
Following in my father’s footsteps, I joined the woodsmen’s team when I went off to college. I competed at Penn State Mont Alto from 2007 to 2009 and thanks to the encouragement of my professors and coaches Dr. Beth Brantley and Craig Houghton, I began competing professionally while working in Germany in 2013.

How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I prepare for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series by training the three main events. I try to chop and saw several times a week, either before or after work.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® Series discipline?
My best discipline is the underhand chop. It has always been my favorite, so I tend to give it the most attention during training.

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing on the Series?
The best advice I could give another female athlete who is interested in competing is to not be afraid to reach out. Go to a show if you can so you can meet the athletes. If you can’t attend, social media is an easy way to get connected. The wood chopping community is like one big family and we will welcome you with open arms.
