How long have you competed in lumberjack sports?
Three years.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
When I attended Paul Smith’s College in 2015 I went to tryouts for the woodsmen’s team my first year. I ran away intimidated because of a guy yelling “BREATHE!” at someone bowsawing. Less than a year later that guy (Ryan Bornt) and I started dating, he taught me how to chop and saw. I fell in love with the sport and guy after a day of training. I joined the team and began competing the following semester. I started competing outside of college at meets, eventually going to bigger shows. Ryan and I are Jack & Jill partners to this day!

How do you train for STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?
Practice each discipline, and hitting the gym to work on my strength.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® discipline?
I feel the strongest in the underhand chop; it’s my favorite!!

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing in the sport?
If you want to get into the sport, talk to us! This sport has the greatest support system, just ask questions and reach out to the athletes. At first when you begin the sport don’t get frustrated and walk.
