How long have you competed in lumberjack sports?
I have been involved in lumberjack sports for 4 years.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
I first used a crosscut to clear trails in the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness and then I joined the Woodsman Team at the University of Montana where I could keep using a crosscut saw and I never had to underbuck. In 2017, a few teammates and I borrowed gear and travelled to a bunch of professional competitions.

How do you train for STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?
During the off season I run, climb, workout, and practice when there isn’t too much snow on the ground. In the summer I hike during my workday and then train a little after work if I’m not in the backcountry. On weekends I either practice or compete.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® discipline?
Well the underhand is my favorite! It’s so exciting to swing an axe that really likes the wood.

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing in the sport?
Work hard, always try to learn more, and don’t forget to have fun!
