How long have you competed in lumberjack sports?
Seven years when I got a start in 2012 at college.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
I got started when I transferred to SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry in 2012. ESF didn’t have softball which I played into community college. I saw a demo in the quart yard, and I thought it was interesting. I went to the first open practice and the rest is history. By far one of my best decisions I’ve made in life.

How do you train for STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?
I train the actual events 2-3 times a week during the season in my parent’s barn. In the off season, I workout at the gym testing my endurance and focusing on becoming stronger all around. I alternate two nights in the gym and one night training. I also try to train on free weekends with better competitors. I ask all kinds of questions and I learn by doing what they say.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® discipline?
At this moment, my strongest STIHL discipline is stock saw. But my actual strongest discipline is standing block which I hope STIHL adds soon to the series!

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing in the sport?
You must give 100+ percent and you must be willing to make a lot of sacrifices. I would also say to surround yourself around people that believe in you, those people are out there. I am proud to say that I have found those people to help me with anything from welding a stand to getting me wood, to sharpening my equipment. Always remember to stay humble and take those supportive people with you on your journey. Yes, I have put in the work and made a lot of sacrifices, but I truly wouldn’t be here without the support from my friends and family helping me get here! Just a side note: I want to give a special thanks to all the women in the sport that paved the way for the first ever women’s STIHL Series. Many women before my time have been pushing for this for years. I look up to many and I am proud to be amongst all of us women in the sport!
