Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Design Bump cap on trimmer head comes off easily. The cap is just placed on nut and not secured to prevent from coming off. I now to have replaced entire trimmer head to replace a lost cap. Bad design

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Line Head I love my Autocut 25-2’s! I have an Autocut 56-2 for my FS560. The head functions fine, but due to the tremendous power of the 560, every type and size of line I have tried has melted together or liquified causing me to take a knife and shave off the melted line from the inside of the spool. STIHL, if you could please have a technician get in touch with me with a solution to the line welding in the spool, that would be great. I really want to keep using my Autocut 56-2, but I need a solution to stop line from melting in the spool after literally minutes of use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from More annoyance than convenience Not very practical and takes up alot time which becomes frustrating. Even when wound right (followed Manual) it blows through line fast and it only receives the thin line. Will be throwing this thing out and looking for something else. Love my stihl trimmer-it starts easy and runs strong but bummer that it is heldback with this autocut head.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't work well From the first day I had it the "auto" string advance didn't work well. Very disappointed. Probably should have returned the trimmer but did't....my mistake. Steer clear of any trimmer with the "auto" cut head.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Welds line together I recently bought a FS131 and bought the 36-2 head to run a little heavier line for what I am cutting. The problem I have is the line welds itself together inside the head. I thought it was a heavier line issue. So I went and bought new .105 line which the stock head handles. I put the same exact line in both heads and the 36-2 will weld it together. The stock head has no issues with line welding at all.I even had to use the stock head to finish what I was cutting because the 36-2 was very problematic. When the line doesn't weld itself the head works great.I have even spoke with my dealers about this issue and they can't really give me a clear answer either and blades are not the answer. I live in a high fire zone with lots of unseen rocks.I need blade use to be very very minimal. My recommendation is buy the duro cut if you need heavier line than 105. It has its own draw backs but at least you wont waste your money on a head that only work 10% of the time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 star is too much for this product The biggest issue is not that the C 4-2 is really bad, but that the FSA85 only accepts this trimmer head. Means the trimmer is completely useless as is the C4-2 “never” auto cut. I bough a new trimline, I soaked it in water, I used lubrication for the trim head, it is now solution for this bad design compounded by the bad design of the trimmer not being able to use a different trim head.It is a shame for otherwise good Stihl products.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worst line feed design ever I find the trimmer difficult to start and unnecessarily complicated with the lock system. I use only recommended pre-mixed canned fuel but still, it is often difficult to start and that's exactly what I was trying to avoid when I felt I was upgrading to STIHL. Also, the trimmer line tangles, breaks easily and doesn't feed well at all, very poor design in my opinion. Honestly, I spend more time messing with the string then I do trimming and that's really bad. If I had it to do over, I would not have bought this product and do not recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The WORST design EVER!! Spend more time trying to untangle the line than trimming. Can't believe STIHL would put a product like this out on the market! Never would have bought this model had I known it was this poorly designed. Doesn't feed well, ALWAYS stuck, and difficult to reload. LOVE your saws....HATE this product!!!
