This professional-grade, straight-shaft grass trimmer is fuel efficient and produces low emissions.

Product Description

As a professional, your time is valuable. The STIHL FS 70 R grass trimmer understands that. It features a powerful and fuel-efficient engine, which means longer run times and fewer refuels. The FS 70 R is also powerful (more powerful than the FS 56 RC-E) and makes quick work of your daily landscaping tasks. Need more line? Just tap the cutting head on the ground and watch as its AutoCut® head automatically feeds out new line. The trimmer is also built to last, featuring a durable cable drive shaft, a high-durability, forged connecting rod and a 4-bearing gearbox. And it’s all backed by a rock-solid two-year limited warranty.

Reviews

FS 70 R is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 217.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stihl power Plenty of power, and easy to start. The only con is that the grip and throttle trigger seem to be too close to the motor which can be awkward for some users. Overall, it’s a great tool with Stihl’s legacy quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Throttle for this trimmer is too touchy. It does not get a consistent flow. The guard on the head is also very bulky to work with. Overall it's is a good product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Ergonomics Machine runs well and I have not had the string breakage issue that some other reviewers have. The only con is that the grip and throttle trigger seem to be too close to the motor which forces my wrist into an uncomfortable position when using the machine. Since the grip is integrated into the plastic motor housing, there is no way to increase this distance. I turned the trimmer head about 40 degrees so that the trigger is slightly to the right instead of straight down and this helps a little with the comfort level. I've used several different trimmers of different brands as well as some other Stihl trimmers over the years and this is the only model on which I've had this problem. I would have gone with a different model had I tried this one before I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down, the best trimmer I've ever owned! This purchase was a replacement for a 25 year old Stihl trimmer that still runs but seems to be a bit underpowered for our needs. I use the old one for occasional quick trims around the house, but the FS 70 R has become my "go to" tool for heavy use on our 3 1/2 acres. If I were still in the business, I wouldn't hesitate to employ this trimmer on a daily basis. Thank you Stihl for another quality tool in my shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I just bought the fs70r and used it once , great power and it isn't as heavy as other professional trimmers Great product light weight plenty of power and seems reliable

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I've been through a few gas trimmers in recent years, none able to withstand the weekly use at the house for long before having issues. First time I used this one I went through 2 tanks of fuel because it was cutting so well I didn't want to stop! And the point of sale service I got from my local dealer was excellent.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Frustrated By Product The trimmer is light and very powerful! It can get through any weeds! The problem I have is the lines cut all the time. I then have to stop the trimmer, pull off the cap, pull the lines back back, put the cap back on and fire it back up. Trying to "bump it" doesn't work because when the lines cut they go inside and I have to take it apart. I am sure if I got an attachment with blades and not lines it would be awesome. It is so frustrating I don't even want to use it anymore.
