A powerful bike-handle trimmer made for professional use, featuring simplified starting and 30% longer run time than the FS 110.

Product Description

Landscaping professionals that demand power in their mowing applications will love the STIHL FS 111 trimmer. With its low-emission, 31.4 cc engine, grass and tall, thick weeds don’t stand a chance. And because it features a larger fuel tank, the FS 111 delivers 30% longer run times when compared to the FS 110. Its bike-handle design also includes rubberized grips for enhanced comfort and leverage. The trimmer features one touch stop and a simplified starting procedure enabled by the semi-automatic choke lever. Add to that an improved air filtration and STIHL exclusive IntelliCarb™ technology for maximum RPM when air filter begins to clog. Need to cut down heavy brush or saplings? The solid steel drive shaft accepts a wide range of heavy-duty cutting heads, including metal blades.

Using a shoulder strap or carrying system helps distribute the weight of the equipment for increased operator comfort and improved maneuverability.
  • Multi-Function Control Handle
Having easy access to all of the controls on one comfortable handle makes it easy to complete tasks so the operator’s hand never has to leave the handle.

The central wing nut enables easy adjustment without the use of tools. For transportation and space-saving storage, the handle can be rotated 90°.
  • Purge Pump Primer
By pressing the bulb, this small fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburetor, reducing the number of starting pulls needed after an extended break between uses.
  • Upright Translucent Fuel Tank
Allows operator to easily check fuel level before starting work. Upright position makes it easier to refill.
  • Protected Spark Arrestor Muffler
Has large baffles which reduce noise level and contains a screen designed to reduce the emission of sparks.
  • Protected Spark Plug
    Protected yet easy to change.
  • Simplified Starting Procedure
To get started, simply pump the fuel primer, set the choke and pull the starter cord. The built-in stop switch allows the user to turn off the engine with a simple press of the button. When the engine is off, the throttle lock automatically returns to the “start” setting. Your power tool will be ready to be started when you’re ready to get back to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of power to keep 4 acres trimmed up. I use this to keep up my 4 acres perimeter and cross fencing as well as around sprinklers after cutting grass hay. Plenty of power and comfort to help make it an easier task.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far! I live on a farm and needed something that I could use for 3-5 hours a day on saturday and sunday. The weedeater has been a champ so far with great power and the strength of the stihl .095mm line has been outstanding. The combo cuts through grass and very difficult weeds that another weedeater and line (.105) had problems with. Make sure you read the owners manual to understand how to put in the replacement line and dont forget the grease that you need to put in the gear box. Dont want to spend that kind of money and have it break when I could have prevented it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEAST!!! I have the brushcutter and quad bladesfor heavy brush and small trees. Like butter! With mower head and the black heavy duty cord from stihl, (although great with other heavy duty lines, too) it makes weeds n grass DISAPPEAR! I HAVE CONVERTED TO A stihl customer full on! Great product! Always starts within 3 pulls! I only use the motomix 4stroke fuel. I bought it to help clear my 5 acre homesite. Will definitely buy stihl from now on! I see why pro scapers everywhere use these! My fave power tool for yard!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good quality trimmer for the price I really try to like this trimmer, it is very dependable, easy starting and powerful. The dislikes, it is HEAVY and unbalanced. I don't like the method of line spool release. It pinches my fingers each time. I've used it a season and a half, but will likely not buy another unless these features are improved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What A Gem! From the get go, I have always been a Echo guy. After 20 years of use mine laid down, it done me well! I have guys talk about Stihl so I thought I would give it a try. I own about 2 acres (mostly hill) and try to keep it looking nice. I worked about 3 hours and had it done with the use of FS111. Used the auto trim head, PolyCut and Brush blade. So you can see I use 3 different heads and all easy to change with no problems. Used 3 hours with no back pain (price within itself) What a great investment! I"M SOLD!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a tight unit. With its name (Sthil) one should believe there would be nothing left to chance. I purchased this unit in the spring of 2018 after reading some great reviews and still believe in the brand, but there is much room for improvement. My issues started on the first day of use, mainly the handlebar stability which was the paramount issue for selecting this unit. The unit's handlebar moves towards the front ever so slow while the motor is engaged due to an ever so slight vibration. There is a knob on the bar for tightening, but there is no remedy. After using the unit for 10 minutes along with gentle tapping for more string the handlebars slide to a 40-degree angle toward the cutters head. The movement does not hinder the motor function at all but does cause several interruptions in the ability to cut/trim with the intended handlebar purpose due to having to stop and loosen the knob, readjust the bar to the proper location, tighten again, start, and go on from there. No biggie, but doing this 5-10 times per cutting, yes it becomes bothersome.Remedies, I have tightened the bar using the mounted black knob as suggested by Sthil-lol. 2. I have tried both friction tape and electrical tape both do not fix the problem. After studying the clamping mechanism for the handlebar I can see that the is NO interior Knurling for the aluminum to grab and hold once tightened.I do not get into town much so taking the unit to a dealer for them to tinker with is not an option so next, I will try a little bit of JB Weld. Fingers crossed farm mechanic at work here....Also, Sthil does NOT recommend this unit to be used as an edger do to the handlebar position. They are incorrect. Running this unit as if there were an edger attachment would be Awesome because of the handlebar position, PS it works wonders in edging with string, imagine this unit with a blade attachment!
