    Great Trimmer
I have only had 2 trimmers in the last 15 years. Both were Echo's and the first one was 6-8 years old when i got it. So i know you pay for quality. This is my first Stihl trimmer, but i already owned a Stihl chain saw and backpack blower so i was willing to give the trimmer a try. Myself and my wife are very satisfied and actually impressed with the performance so far. We have about a 5 acre yard and then we mow some commercially so we use them a lot. I am anxious to see how this one holds up to ... read more what i'm used to on the Echo's. So far, so good. I am happy about what i bought.

So much better than troy built
I have used a Troy Built trimmer for a couple of years. But it was to heavy and hard to start. I purchased a Stihl trmmer a couple of weeks ago and i am very pleased. For someone like myself with a bad back it is so much lighter and im very impressed with the way lt cuts weeds without chocking down. I was able to get the job done without having to restart the trimmer over and over like i did with the last trimmer i owned. Thanks Stihl for a great product.

    Great out of the box...........buuuut.
Nice piece of equipment have never owned anything Stihl. Running great right out of the box very impressed with the power. However the trimmer line that comes with the machine is CRAAAAAAAP!! Did about 20 mins. of trimming and the line started breaking inside the trimmer head. Since the instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired took a while to figure out how to get inside. Whoever or whatever wrapped the the trimmer line in the head did a real nice job of choking it on itself in the head as ... read more well. So far really like the machine, but am going to put some quality line on. Please don't reply about soaking the line............REALLY!! Just put better line on.

I've been using a different brand line trimmer (Orange in color) around my pond for years and thought I had the best until I used the FS-131. I can honestly say that my line trimmer time has been cut in half. This thing is a BEAST!!! Absolutely No easing into the thick grass or weeds around the pond or outskirts just, hit them and keep going. My previous line trimmer needed a blade to take care of the tough stuff, NOT THIS ONE with .105 line!! It is a litter heaver than my last line trimmer But, ... read more a small price to pay for quality and power.

Powerful, reliable and a great value
Purchased the FS 131 R to replace my old well used FS110. Was pleasantly surprised with the responsive nearly 2 Hp motor. Using a hedge trimmer attachment it will make quick time in clearing blackberry patches. Love the choke mechanism, makes for easy starts. Prefer this model over handlebar versions...seems like I have more control and the weight is fine. I'm 55 and believe with proper care this will be the last trimmer I'll ever need. Looking forward to using this beast. Extended run time is a plus.

    A Beast
An exceptional upgrade from my FS130R. Powerful with much torque to get the job done efficiently and quickly, especially in grass, tough grass, weeds, and brush. A bit lighter than the 130R and a slightly largeer fuel tank as well. Starts quickly with little to no effort. Cannot ask for better trimmer than this one and I have owned a few like Echo (my second choice), Toro, Troy-Built and such...etc.

    This product has excellent power.
Bought one of these about 2 months ago. It is starting to get through the break in period. Let me say I have an area of grass that normally takes about 30 minutes to cut. But with this product I can now do this area in about 20 minutes and there is a ditch I have to trim in this same area as well. The grass is starting to thicken up and this product is cutting even better. Excellent product, it fits nicely with my team of FS 55 R and FS 94 R.

    Has great power
I have this product, and push it to it's limits. I mean I work this unit HARD! hill sides, and grass that's high... And i have to say, it's holding up. If there's any other out there that's has more power than this. I would buy it in a heart beat. I know it's heavy, and i knew this before buying it. So if your not a hard worker, don't think about buying it. It's for people that's hard worker

    Great Trimmer
This is a great trimmer with power to spare for cutting through tough conditions. Well balanced and easy to handle, although with power comes some additional weight. Starts easily. I wanted a trimmer to handle light and heavier conditions on our 5 acre lot, and this trimmer fits the bill well.

    Finally a good trimmer
The absolute best trimmer I've purchased yet. I bought as an impulse buy ha ha $ almost... So happy I did. I can't stand the us made trimmer models. I was using a 130 and it drove me nuts with a deceleration problem. This bad boy never stops or skips a beat. Pull that throttle trigger and get to work! Doesn't eat twine excessively, but... It is heavier. A quality German built machine well worth the money. Don't forget to lock it up!

    Great trimmer
this trimmer is a very nice trimmer. Very well built , great quality and very comfortable to operate. Lots of power. Worth every penny. But it's not the Stihl fs 250 R. The 250 was a true power house. This 240 is close but not the 250. The 240 is lacking the top end of what the 250 R had. Stihl replaced the 250 R with this 240 R. Overall all its meant to last and is very powerful and you can't go wrong buying this 240 R. Btw it is made in Germany . Great German quality .

    Beast of a machine.
I run a small two man operation and this thing is amazing. Our time spent trimming was reduced by half. We have cut down hay field hight grass and have yet to bog this thing down. Even with 70+ lawns a week this thing starts first pull each time. It is a little in the heavy side weighing in at 15lbs, makes for some sweet triceps though. If you want something serious as you are and will last being run at full throttle non stop, quit looking this is the machine you need.

    2 Mix Quality
I've carried this trimmer all over our 45 acre farm. With nearly three pounds less weight than the FS91, this trimmer causes a lot less fatigue at the end of a long day. The 2 mix engine works very well. The FS94 is one of very few Stihl 2 cycle trimmers. The 2 mix seems to have a stronger mid range than older 2 cycle designs, and it works very well at part throttle. Fuel consumption is reasonable. For those who need more power one of the bigger 4 mix trimmers may be better, but for clearing ... read more brush all day the FS94 is a great choice.

Great edger if you value reliability and longevity.
The FS 94R is a near perfect edger. It has adequate power, and has an impressive power to weight ratio. If you have large lawns or need to use it for long periods of time, the weight will be very comfortable. As typical from stihl, this trimmer starts with little effort. It is built to last a long time. The only criticism I have it that its features seem slightly out dated. It could use a new trimmer head that feeds faster and easier.

    Look no further
I worked golf course maintenance years ago running big stihl trimmers Now just take care of a few lawns and a few hours trimming weekly on my property. After replacing cheap straight shaft weed eaters every couple yr. Decided to spend the money and upgrade to real thing like my chainsaw and never made a better purchase this is the lightest most powerful well balanced trimmer with almost no vibration to hands. I'm so amazed that there is such a perfect trimmer

    Beyond expectations
Having used the same Trimmer/brush cutter for twenty five years (and it still runs), I was hesitant to buy a new one. My wife bought this for our Anniversary. I am amazed at how easy it starts, how quiet it is, and that it is a four cycle engine that uses two stroke gas/oil mix. What a feat of engineering. This unit came with the cup, washer and nut to hold my brush blade which has only four chainsaw cutters. I was again amazed at the power it has to cut through limbs and small trees at very low ... read more throttle. For the Stihl Autocut mowing head, I replaced the round profile line with cross profile line as that is what I've always used, and mowed through some tall field grass. Again amazed at how efficient it operated at very little throttle and it's abundant power. This is a very welcome addition to my 15 year old O36 Stihl Chainsaw and will most likely last the remainder of my days.

show these 111's more love people it's light weight with decent power
got it last wednesday and it gave me a good first impression startin on the second pull im currently on its 6th tank of gas and so far it's continued to start easy and seems to have decent power and it'll run any blade real good with plenty of power to run em while more powerful than my 91R but not as powerful as my 130R and both of my 131's i think it's gonna have enough power to do just about anything ive still got a little more testing to do but like the 91R and my other machines i think it's ... read more gonna be a good decent machine for anybody and it's lightweight too so a person wont get too overly tired runnin it and yeah i do recommend it for anybody lookin to buy this model or one of the other 111's

    Outstanding product for the money.
This is by far the best trimmer out there for the money. I have put this trimmer through things that other "comparable brands"have failed at. If you are looking for quality trimmer and don't want to spend a thousand dollars, look no further.
