    What an Amazing product
I bought this Trimmer at the beginning of last season for my lawn care business. I used to Trim with a low grade electric trimmer, the Fs-70 was such an upgrade! For the Whole season the trimmer remained extremely reliable so I could depend on it every week to get my jobs done. The Trimmer has Ample power for trimming around obstacles, edging beds and concrete, and even chopping down tall thick grass in a garden. This trimmer is more than equipped for commercial lawn care work, and will remain ... read more in my fleet for years to come. There is also a sense of comfort knowing my local John Deere dealership can service it if anything ever goes wrong (which I doubt it will). What an excellent piece of equipment I will always purchase Stihl Products.

    Great Trimmer
I have only had 2 trimmers in the last 15 years. Both were Echo's and the first one was 6-8 years old when i got it. So i know you pay for quality. This is my first Stihl trimmer, but i already owned a Stihl chain saw and backpack blower so i was willing to give the trimmer a try. Myself and my wife are very satisfied and actually impressed with the performance so far. We have about a 5 acre yard and then we mow some commercially so we use them a lot. I am anxious to see how this one holds up to ... read more what i'm used to on the Echo's. So far, so good. I am happy about what i bought.

Simply-Put ! This is Stihl the "BEST" trimmer I have ever owned...
Works better than any other trimmer I have ever owned. The engine has a very-high rate of speed and, is very easy to start once you learn how the choke system is set-up to function. The "Dealer" was Truthful about the quality of this trimmer. The care and maintenance of this trimmer is simple if one takes the (time) to read and follow the care instructions /manual. Trimmer line is easier - maintained if running at full speed when being tapped for line extension. At a lower speed the line will ... read more not release properly and can become a problem for the Trimmer to function properly. Most people do not seem to realize this fact and, blame it on the trimmer its-self. all lines will eventually break, some sooner than others depending on the type of Terrain being used on but! there are ways to help extend the life of any trimmers line.

    A Beast
Just cleared some trees off my lot. With no canopy left, a lot of undergrowth has developed, weeds, local grasses and some things I have never seen. Tried my older string trimmer but to no avail. Went to my local Stihl dealer in Mt Jackson, VA, told him my dilemma and asked a few questions of the proprietor and he showed me all the trimmers that could tackle my job. After demo-ing several, showing features and benefits, I decided on one model. I took it home and in less than 2 hours, ... read more accomplished what my old trimmer could not put a dent in. Would recommend to anyone these Stihl products and would encourage anyone local to Mt. Jackson to visit this place. Cannot find good customer service much any longer.

    Unstoppable and reliable
In 2 years I had 4 different trimmers from 4 different manufacturers. None were very reliable and didn't stand up to rugged use. Finally I paid the price to buy a STIHL professional FS 240 trimmer. This is the best trimmer I ever owned. It starts easily and every time and has the power to cut through the toughest grass and weeds. I have a very large property and have yet to find any grass or very thick weeds that will bog down this trimmer. It has been used for 6 to 8 hours straight and I have ... read more not found anything (short of small trees and hidden rocks) that will stop this trimmer. I've had this for a year and wish I bought this years ago!

As a professional tree spacer I had to keep telling myself that I was not going to get a grass trimmer/ brush cutter to have the same quality or close to the same power as the clearing saws do. Boy was I ever wrong the Stihl fs 240 has LOADS of power DO NOT under estimate this brush cutter it blew my mind away with how well built this machine is and how much power it has as everyone else has said it’s a very user friendly unit to operate. Wish I had of bought this a long time ago. DEFINITELY ... read more recommend buying one

    What A Gem!
From the get go, I have always been a Echo guy. After 20 years of use mine laid down, it done me well! I have guys talk about Stihl so I thought I would give it a try. I own about 2 acres (mostly hill) and try to keep it looking nice. I worked about 3 hours and had it done with the use of FS111. Used the auto trim head, PolyCut and Brush blade. So you can see I use 3 different heads and all easy to change with no problems. Used 3 hours with no back pain (price within itself) What a great investment! I"M SOLD!!

Owned for 1 year. Been great so far
Great trimmer. Starts with a couple pulls. Easy to replace string. Super light for a commercial trimmer. Used as a homeowner with about an acre. Works well for edging sidewalk as well. Maybe a tad under powered for commercial use but I don't know for sure. Reliability should be excellent as this is a true 2 stroke design engine. Perfect for the homeowner that wants an excellent easy to operate gas trimmer

    Good For What It Is
This is a good professional trimmer for light, detail work. It is lightweight and easy to handle. But don't expect the torque and power you get from other professional trimmers. For mainstream jobs, stick to the FS90 and up. As for the Ecospeed wheel, it's really not of much use in a professional setting other than maybe training a rookie operator. Otherwise, you likely will never use it as you trigger finger controls the speed. A good trimmer for light work but not really suited for the day ... read more to day grind of a professional lawn crew.

Great edger if you value reliability and longevity.
The FS 94R is a near perfect edger. It has adequate power, and has an impressive power to weight ratio. If you have large lawns or need to use it for long periods of time, the weight will be very comfortable. As typical from stihl, this trimmer starts with little effort. It is built to last a long time. The only criticism I have it that its features seem slightly out dated. It could use a new trimmer head that feeds faster and easier.

    Beast mode weed eater
I bought the FS 311 to replace my FS 250 which had to be 15+ years old. The FS 311 has roughly equivalent power but weighs less and is easier to start. It will handle anything that gets in it's way...usually at half throttle. It will take down mature sage brush but the string won't last long doing that. Braided steel may be my next option.

    Beast of a machine.
I run a small two man operation and this thing is amazing. Our time spent trimming was reduced by half. We have cut down hay field hight grass and have yet to bog this thing down. Even with 70+ lawns a week this thing starts first pull each time. It is a little in the heavy side weighing in at 15lbs, makes for some sweet triceps though. If you want something serious as you are and will last being run at full throttle non stop, quit looking this is the machine you need.

    Great machine for COMMERCIAL use
As far as I know this is the most powerful trimmer Stihl offers. I do 50-55 lawns a day and this thing will not quit. It is designed for daily, repeated use. I saw someone say they bought this for their home. That is not what this machine is made for. It also requires top end gas with low ethanol and premium synthetic oil, and the gas shouldn’t exceed 30 days old. If you bought this machine for your residential home and are complaining you should have bought a 70 and not a 240. Love ... read more Stihl, very costly but well worth it.

    An Excilent Trimmer
I bought my 240R two months ago to replace my FS85T. This thing is a beast it doesn't stop when I have thick tall grass to cut through. The head holds a decent amount of string and the fuel economy is impressive for a trimmer of this size. The only con I can think of is weight of the trimmer. It does weigh 15lbs but they did provide a strap which helps some when walking across a large yard from tree to tree. Over all a great buy and I look forward to getting another.
