Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, Easy to use I am really putting this baby to good use. I've had this one for 7 years. I realize it is not perfect but it does the job and I am satisfied with it. I had to change the trimmer head once because it cracked and that is the only problem I've had with it . I love that I can just plug it in and it works. I have about 1/2 acre to clean up for fire danger several times a year. It cuts through grasses as tall as I am (5'3") senior woman. If it ever dies, I'll get another one just like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Life I've had this trimmer for many years and it is still going strong. Easy to load cutting string and just won't stop. The only draw back is its a bit heavy. Glad to see that they are still being made.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice a few issues The shield is too large and makes it difficult to see what your are doing. The string also seems too high off the ground, which requires you to cut at an awkward angle. Overall a really good quality tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, sturdy, and easy to handle. Enjoy STIHL products. This is a great tool to use for the jobs around the house. Cuts clean, and has the power to cut through all grass including tall grass or weeds!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Line is such a problem. Spool is hard to load and requires constant attention I have had many types of weed trimmers. This Stihl unit is high quality and powerful but use so much line. The line will break and end and I will have to take the head apart and re-load the line. I used to be able to do my yard with a cheap trimmer with less hassle. Now I have to reload and the spool several times. To much power for the Stihl line it came with and the extra spool I bought. Too much hassle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trimmer is light weight Having tons of trouble to advance the line. When I tap on the ground nothing happens. Very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from EXTREMELY Annoying Stringing Process The trimmer works fine. But restringing it is a nightmare. Every time. I have wasted more time trying to reload this thing than I ever would spend using it. I wish I had purchased a different trimmer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had more luck with trimmers that cost 1/2 as much. I have had this trimmer for 3 years and have never worked. Using only the Stihl brand .080" line. Couldn't get it to feed correctly, the clutch mechanism would lock, the line heats up and snaps inside the spool. I bought the deluxe line spool since I have no luck with the original spool. It was no better than the original. I bought Stihl brand because their chainsaws are excellent but find out the trimmers not so much.
