    Great Trimmer
So far, I am loving the trimmer. I'll give you the pro's and con's. Pro's: Great power upgrade from the electric trimmer I previously owned. It is super easy to start. It is super lightweight. It is fairly simple to work with for things like basic maintenance. Con's: The only real complaint I have with the trimmer is that the trimmer head is annoying when it doesn't auto feed. I had to take the head off and pull the string out 3 times when I was trimming, but I think this because it ... read more had cheap string that had melted together. I put a higher quality string on the trimmer, but I haven't used it yet.

    Buy No Other
I use to buy a troy built trimmer about every other year from Lowe's and I'm hear to say I will never ever buy troy built ANYTHING again! This Stihl trimmer was 50 dollars cheaper then troy built and more powerful, never balking down. The Stihl never clogs and gets tangled in high grass like the troy built because it maintains power to eat through the job. Trimmer head design, comfort, power, weight, cutting ease, and dependability make me wish I had bought a Stihl years ago. I live in West ... read more Virginia and I cut a .7 acre lot with no trouble on a hillside! Buy one today!

    starts great
the string does not hold up at all. This is the stihl string. I put a different brand into it and it did do better. Next I may go up in string size and see if that takes care of the problem. I have 2 of these and the green Stihl string is useless because it breaks too easy.Other than that the trimmer starts and runs better than most trimmers I have used. If the string would not break so easy it would be 5 star and fantastic..............Joe

Handy tool for brush and small trees
Have only used this trimmer for 4 hours so far, but once I turned the blade around (dealer installed it backwards) it worked great. Cut various kinds of trees and brush up to some small trees about 2" in diameter and it cut right through with no problems.

    Great product, but I overbought.
This thing is a beast. I bought the brush knife/guard and the string trimmer head/guard. It comes with the circular saw blade and limit stop. Tons of power. Too much power for all but the tallest grass and thickest brush. By that I mean don't make this do double duty as a yard trimmer. You barely give it gas and the throttle does not modulate well. It likes to be wide open with a load, and normal grass and light brush doesn't make it do that. I could have gotten an fs 311 and put blades on it. ... read more It would be better served with mulching blade and guard than the string trmer and brush knife. Then you can shred the brush not just cut it. I cut all the brush I had in several weeks, and brush doesn't grow like grass!

    Awesome power, Always starts easy
I bought this machine because I needed something that had more power than my FS110. I especially wanted something that could run a 4 line string head. This machine is amazing. First machine I've had that can cut faster than I can swing it. I use it mostly for cutting super thick grass and weeds from 3 to 6 ft. tall. With the double shoulder harness I can use it all day without getting sore. Thanks for such a great machine.

best value-for-money trimmer on the market
starts very quickly, third pull for me. surprisingly light, considering its size. very powerful. love the rubber grips, too. It is a very comfortable trimmer, great for prolonged use. Also, I can cut around 15 yards on one tank of gas. my only complaints are the lack of a detachable shaft, and it can be difficult to disassemble the head to restring it. I have to use a flathead screwdriver. I have used many trimmers, this is the best one. very good trimmer for the money.

    The best
I shopped many trimmers before buying a stihl. Bought a ryobi took it back the first. This stihl trimmer is very strong and will eat anything you throw at it. Once I fine tuned it wow it is powerful. I put a durocut head on it and 130 line and weeds be gone. Easy to start and balanced perfect. Its commercial grade You might have to find tune it after you run it for a bit like I had to and pull it till it starts it will start after 5 pulls.

    Trigger handle a real pain
I really like the fsa130 except for the trigger mechanism. It is a real pain to use and often locks me out and when I unlocked it I find my speed set back at low. Please still, simplify the next model year. It doesn’t have to be fancy just make it functional like the fsa90

This the best trimmer I have ever used.
The weight is ideal and the noise level is pleasant. It does a great job and is very easy to accurate enough to do tight trimming but still will clear a large area in good time.

    Battery Powered Trimmer
Excellent light duty trimmer. It does everything I need it to do around my home. It is light weight and easy to used. Much more convenient than a gasoline powered trimer.

Starts immediately, does not get bogged down by grass or weeds.
This weed eater is the best I have ever owned. It starts on the first three pulls every time. i can cut grass all day with it and it does not use a lot of gas. It has a large tank so I can run it for a long time before i need to refill it. It can cut any grass, weed or brush without being bogged down or stopping. Great weed eater.

The FS240 has the power and quality that everyone looks for in a commercial grade tool.
The STIHL FS240 is a commercial grade Line trimmer/Brush-cutter. The impression I got when I first used the FS240 was this machine is an animal. I've owned commercial grade trimmers for more then 25 years and found this trimmer to have the quality and endurance many brands strive for. The FS240 has plenty of power and fuel efficiency. The FS240 has enough power to use many different blades and line sizes with no or little bogging. I would suggest using the .105 or .130 line or larger. I found ... read more using the .095 line did not have the stamina to holdup to the 37.7cc engine. The trimmer does require some TLC. I used the trimmer in a high dust area and found the air cleaner did fill-up fast but was easily remedied with a quick blowout. The components of the trimmer are logical and easy to maintain or replace. The easy start choke is one that requires little thought. The accelerator is feather touch reactive and helps to maintain fuel efficiency. If you are looking for a trimmer that is great for home or commercial use the FS240 is a great choice.

    A Beast
Just cleared some trees off my lot. With no canopy left, a lot of undergrowth has developed, weeds, local grasses and some things I have never seen. Tried my older string trimmer but to no avail. Went to my local Stihl dealer in Mt Jackson, VA, told him my dilemma and asked a few questions of the proprietor and he showed me all the trimmers that could tackle my job. After demo-ing several, showing features and benefits, I decided on one model. I took it home and in less than 2 hours, ... read more accomplished what my old trimmer could not put a dent in. Would recommend to anyone these Stihl products and would encourage anyone local to Mt. Jackson to visit this place. Cannot find good customer service much any longer.

    After 8 years of use....
Mini -Cultivator is still going strong, only failure is the quick release pins holding the tines on fell off, the quick cotter pins did not like the hard ground, so I replaced them with grade 8 bolts and lock nuts. No problems since, I have done three new beds in super hard ground that beats you up but the cultivator worked fine. Very easy to use in loose soil, which is what I do normally. I grease the unit every year and have sharpened the tines twice, thats it. The unit is heavy but I think ... read more the weight is just right for its size.

Leaves a strip down the middle
I've used the cultivator extensively in my large garden. On worked ground it takes care of weed seedlings. The only issue I have is that it leaves a strip of weeds down the middle, between the two sets of tines. I understand that you can't put a set of times there due to the transmission but it wastes time and fuel having to backtrack over that small strip. Overall I'm happy, just wish there was a way to cultivate down the middle.

    Excellent for Flower Beds
Purchased the Mini Cultivator attachment after returning from vacation to find beds overrun with weeds and too much to do by hand. Firm believer of "If there's a tool to simplify the job, buy it". I have a FS90R, which was more than enough to power this attachment. This tool turned a 3hr task into a 15min pleasure. Turned the beds and weeds with ease. One nice benefit was a lot of the weeds and their roots collected on the tines allowing quick removal after the job was complete. Very pleased...
