Comfortable chainsaw protective pants that are as versatile as your work day.

Product Description

Packed with protection and utility, Performance Protective Pants - 6 Layer are a great go-to for anyone using a chainsaw. The nylon/spandex outer shell allows for stretch and durability while the knees are reinforced with Aramid/spandex for when bending and climbing are part of the job. The inner material is UL® Classified and made up of six layers of Avertic™ Pro by Engtex®, covering the leg from the waistband to the ankle. This material is cut-retardant, designed to clog the sprocket and stop the rotating saw chain of a gasoline-powered chainsaw. But not to worry, despite its numerous components, this material is easy to wash and dry. With two side slit pockets, one back pocket with zipper closure and a cargo pocket on the leg, your job site tools can be kept within arm’s reach in these pants. They even have a side cell phone pocket with hook and loop closure.

Available Color: Black and Coyote, in sizes S through XL.

Important Information

These protective garments contain pads of cut-retardant material designed to reduce the risk or severity of injury to the body parts covered by the pads in the event of contact with a rotating chain. The fibers in the pads provide extra layers of material and are designed to rip apart if they come into contact with the moving chain and to clog the sprocket and stop the chain in certain circumstances. In some contacts, the pads may stop the chain. In other contacts, the pads will resist the cutting process only for a fraction of a second. The actual degree of protection afforded will vary with the speed of the chain at the time of contact, the power and torque of the saw, the design of the chainsaw sprocket and similar factors. Follow the washing instructions. Improper care may destroy cut-retardant properties of the material.

The fibers will not stop the sprocket on most electric chainsaws because of their constant high torque.

Important Information All STIHL chainsaw protective apparel meets or exceeds OSHA Regulation 1910.266 for Personal Protective Equipment for chainsaw operators.

WARNING! Improper use of any power tool may cause serious or fatal injury. Read, understand and follow carefully the operating and safety instructions in your instruction manual before using such products.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible stitching This is the worst pair of professional workpants out there. Being stihl loyal i am extremely disappointed. If you are going to sell a product in a professional setting it needs to meet the functionality standards for that professional use. How are you selling a product like this and not standing by it? I bought 3 pairs of these and went through all 3 in less than 2 weeks do to the crouch coming apart. I went to my dealer and was told they had exeded the 30 day warrenty. That warrenty is a joke. If you truly believe you have a good product it needs to last more than 30 days and you should stand by that. I literally wore them 3 times and didnt return them in time. Last time i buy any clothing or ppe from stihl.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for professional use First day with the new Stihl saw pants doing tree service at a home. I walked thru some light brush in front of a house thinking nothing of it. After seeing there is a 2 inch tare along the stiching on the front leg made me think otherwise. So if your looking for durability, performance is short for these performance saw protection pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fitment is an issue but these are the best Protective Pants Available I have a pair of these (in XL 42"-44") and pair of summer pants (in M 34-36) with the protective layer in them. "BOTH MADE IN AMERICA" These are much better than the summer protective pants. The protective layer is top to bottom, on the summer pants it stops just above the knee. The knees seem to be reinforced with a durable layer and overall fit better than the summer pants. I have worn these when it was 85 degrees and wasn't too hot, surprisingly breathable. I had to wear heat gear tights underneath them because the seams for the Avertic lining inside the pants are so rough that they will rub holes in the back your legs. I'm surprised that the seams were not taped. Fitment is an issue! Both pair of pants have extra room in the waist. The summer pants tore a hole in the crotch the first time I knelt down to cut a stump, because they were sagging below my waist? I would return them but I purchased them out of state and with shipping costs it might be easier to try and fix them? I have not seen these or any other pant available in the store. Really surprised that these can't be ordered online because they are not available in stores unless you order them to the store. I received mine 3 months after ordering them. Any other retailer would ship them to my house and offer a reasonable return shipping option. I would have order these in three sizes and returned the ones that didn't fit. I don't like chaps, they always get caught on brush when I back away from something. Safety should be priorty #1. Actually really disappointed in the dealer networks availability of safety gear. This pair of pants should be on display in every size available at every store where saws are available. I have been to six stihl dealers in two states and only one of them even knew about these. None of dealers have stock of protective pants. Typical dealer has 10-30 saws and one pair of chaps, one pair of gloves and maybe a helmet. (maybe). Overall I think these pants are the best pants I have seen from Stihl. I could wear these everyday but I would like to try on a large pair because I think they maybe the best fit for me. If I could I would return the summer pants and exchange them for another pair of these.
