HT 133

HT 133
The ultimate telescoping pole pruner, built with the same features as the HT 103, but with a larger displacement engine.

Product Description

Reach for high branches with ease thanks to the HT 133 Pole Pruner. Its gearbox reduces weight at the cutting attachment compared to the previous model to provide easier handling and less fatigue. A powerful fuel-efficient, low-emission engine makes the HT 133 the ultimate choice for heavy tree maintenance tasks. Plus, with its squared shaft, users can prune high branches with ease and precision while the large fuel tank allows for 30% longer run times than the previous model. The HT 133 is packed with all the features of the HT 103, but with 35% more power for tough pruning and trimming jobs.

HT 133 is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 93.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want a pro saw with great reach get use to the added weight. I bought this after doing a lot of research. Apples to apples it has a reasonable weight with greater power than compared to the former 101 or the Echo Pro saw. I am not a professional even though I use this on a 150 acre farm. (For background information I have three bachelor degrees in engineering; mechanical, electrical and industrial) It is very nice looking and well built. The engine sounds like it is growling at you. I went from a fixed length much lighter saw to this beast. I am a very strong, 240lb person and find this thing very difficult to use for more than a half hour straight. My back hurts for two days. It shocks me that the Echo version is heavier than this thing. You can cut more in a shorter time than with a lighter weight saw due to its raw power which makes up for some of the extra energy put out to use it. Then again this thing reaches out a long distance. I really like the locking system for the extension and the sliding harness hook. The harness strap is absolutely junk. Dollar store quality! Even with the strap on it, it requires a lot of left arm strength (if right handed) to move the head around while cutting. The pole has a little flex when out all the way but as expected. Starts up great but makes a metal sound on starting which I believe is the clutch assembly engaging. The engine is so powerful it almost sounds out of timing. It seems to me that it does not spin the chain as fast as my old pole saw. The shutoff button has a great feel and is very responsive. My second biggest complaint beyond the weight is the chain itself. I believe they put this smaller size chain on to reduce the weight of the bar and chain and not for better cutting. I would guess this chain will never last as long as one of the standard sizes. I find it easily gets hung-up in branches when cutting at almost vertical. This may be the case with any pole saw. Note: buy the case of oil and extend your 2 yr warranty to 4 yrs. Use the Citi Double credit card and extend it 2 more years through the citi card. Overall a very nice piece of equipment that should last me a lifetime. I hope I do not run into issues that some others have had. I love using it but require 800 Motrin, a massage and a three hour nap when I’m done. No joke! Maybe a little exaggerated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nope Stihl you had to have known it wasnt a 'pro" piece of equipment, you redesigned the shaft, then cut power and put that little chincy chain and bar on it to compensate. throw the internals in the trash go get the guts out of a old one and call it a day...25 years of great stihl products...this one is junk

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional grade I always try to get the toughest, best built equipment I can afford. This unit is a bit pricey but does not disappoint. Unit is heavier than expected when extended. However, it is quite manageable. The strap is good for carry and that is about it. When using the saw, remove the strap and collar. Might consider the upgraded backpack style for extended use. Love the way the included Pico chain cuts. I do want a wider kerf however. One thing to note, do not get aggressive with the undercutting or you may find the saw pinched..... At first I thought the RPM,s of the saw was slow as I was accustomed to using traditional 2 cycle saws. This 4 cycle saw has plenty of speed and power and cuts rather quickly. Overall, a good investment for the farm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Stihl tool ever bought I bought this pole trimmer to perform a couple of jobs around the house. Since having it I have used it more than I thought I would have. Just a good tool to have around. It is on the heavy side though especially when extended fully which is expected of a great quality tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Is What It Is....A STIHL Just began using the pole saw and it's a monster on tree limbs. I have too say that the saw is a bit on the heavy side, but once you start working you forget how heavy it is and notice how powerful it can be. I am not going to say that I know everything about the HT133, but I am getting to know it very well. I guess I'll get used too it (the weight) after a few times with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful Hard-Working Saw but still hard Work for the Operator I bought the HT-133 about 2 mounts ago and have used it about 12 hours. It starts on the first or second pull every time, I always use premixed fuel. I have 2 acers with 75+ mature oak trees that had never been trimmed. This saw has done everything I have asked so far, trims branches much larger than I expected with no issue. Be aware this is a workout especially when extended out all the way, this saw is heavy just getting it from the ground up to the branches 11+ feet away and holding it there for a long time. I am 44 and in decent shape after a few hours of use I feel it in my shoulders, hands and arms. When using at the shortest length it is great, you feel very safe being 6’ away from the blade. I have learned to cut the larger logs to length when still on the tree, don’t have to worry about the dirt on the ground. I would buy this saw again. I have just started on my trees, being on ladder or in a tractor bucket for this many tree is not an option. If this was for a commercial crew I would be concerned. I am very careful, if you don’t take care of this saw I can see it needing repair very quickly. This saw is made of plastic by the bar. (if it was metal if would even be heaver). Make sure and check the bar oil before you run out of fuel, It will run out first.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Running Capability, Ridiculous for the Price... I have 2 Stihl chain saws: one is 35 yrs old, the newer wood boss is 15 yrs old. Both run like a top with my usual simple home owner maintenance.Bought my HT 133 pole saw a year ago, and it will start with one pull and then as it gets to operating temp, it will bog and then stall. Repeatedly...took it back to local dealer, (who doesn't care unless they 'know' you), and 2 weeks later got it back with a new 'engine head'.Still starts on one pull and still bogs and stalls when fully warmed up. It will start again, idle for half minute but any throttle app causes it to bog/stall/quit again.Pure gas/oil mix, blah, blah, blah...The twist lock for length is also very weak and the 'balance' of product is OK for an NFL player, not so good for above avg in shape home owner. It has quickly become a pricey garage ornament....Stihl has obviously dumbed down on their newer equipment, and the cost accounting guys seem to have the final word. This is my last Stihl product and last purchase of any kind from our local Waynesville Stihl dealer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and powerful Powerful saw, easy to use. Cut off the small branch tips and the thicker part of branches you can make firewood as you cut. A quiet runner you don’t have to wind it out to make cuts or lift up on pole when cutting, does not stall chain while cutting.
