The ultimate telescoping pole pruner, built with the same features as the HT 103, but with a larger displacement engine.

Product Description

Reach for high branches with ease thanks to the HT 133 Pole Pruner. Its gearbox reduces weight at the cutting attachment compared to the previous model to provide easier handling and less fatigue. A powerful fuel-efficient, low-emission engine makes the HT 133 the ultimate choice for heavy tree maintenance tasks. Plus, with its squared shaft, users can prune high branches with ease and precision while the large fuel tank allows for 30% longer run times than the previous model. The HT 133 is packed with all the features of the HT 103, but with 35% more power for tough pruning and trimming jobs.

Reviews

HT 133 is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 99.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shortleaf Pines Powerful tool and easy to use. Has started first pull, every time and idle is consistent and reliable after 8 hours of use. Trimmed 80+ 25-30' short leaf pines with more ease than expected. Had specific concerns on quality and durability after reading some poor reviews, but no longer. This is a quality product that delivers. Thank you Keith at Nixa Hardware for an honest assessment on pre-purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unhappy with fragile nature of HT-133 I have owned 5 chain saws and other gas powered equipment over 40 years. I own a Stihl chain saw, blower, and trimmer. We purchased the HT-133 before reading reviews because Stihl has meant quality for the price! I made about 6 cuts with ease before the engine bogged down on a 1 inch branch undercut and the chain stopped. Tried unsuccessfully to the get chain to move again. Checked oil & chain tightness, moved extension pole in and out without success. Ran into other online reviews in search of solution, only to find out HT-133 has been discontinued in 2019 catalog and other enumerating problems, especially with fragility of plastic spline near the motor. Had it for less than two weeks, so returned it to dealer for refund. Stihl had better field test their equipment and provide more guidance on operation in manual if they are to continue fielding successful equipment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Poor Design The HT-133 pole saw is not made for commercial applications. The metal functioning parts of it's predecessor the HT-131 has been replaced with no functioning plastic parts that are not durable. I've had vibration issues from this pole saw from day one that has been addressed but has not been fixed due to the technicians not having enough experience repairing this saw. This saw will cost you way more than what it cost in repairs and for some reason the warranty has not helped with repairs. This model has also been discontinued after only a couple of years of production. I wish Stihl would put a little more time in developing a product and testing it before unloading it on it's customers.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is absolutely junk to pro user. I have been through five or six of the Ht 131 model professional pole pruner and have no complaints . They were by far the best on the market. The new model has been nothing but a continuous problem as 2 other users have stated . I am on the third oil tank , gear head housing at my expense mind you the shaft is at times near impossible to extend if cold without something to hold the end so it can be pulled out to desired length . You can forget it if in a tree working . It has left me so fatigued from wrestling the shaft in and out that I had issue safely returning to the ground and I am in very good physical condition. I have had the shaft replaced 2 times due to breakage of internals . Doesn't want to stay running at times if upside down. If you're a pro good luck . Don't expect stihl to pay for repairs .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mislabeled as a pro saw. Gear head housing is under engineered. Every time a branch would pinch and twist your saw, the weak plastic housing will break. The extention pole is also under engineered. Yes, they've improved rigidity with the square design, but internals don't hold up. Making big cuts under pressure while fully extended breaks the two clips that keep the extension side from pulling out completely. Once broken, the driveshaft moves freely inside, which will tear up the splines on the gear head and drive shaft itself. This is about a $5xx fix all together. I've had this saw for 2 years so far. Extension locking mechanism is of poor design. During Cold temperatures, the nylon bushings inside shrink up and seize up the extension shaft. In tight places, fighting to extend the saw is the last thing you want to do. Also, when dirt falls in between the nylon, it also will give you a hard time. This is not a professional saw. Well, shoot, a rookie homeowner will break it quicker than the pros. I will look to other brands for my pole saw needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want a pro saw with great reach get use to the added weight. I bought this after doing a lot of research. Apples to apples it has a reasonable weight with greater power than compared to the former 101 or the Echo Pro saw. I am not a professional even though I use this on a 150 acre farm. (For background information I have three bachelor degrees in engineering; mechanical, electrical and industrial) It is very nice looking and well built. The engine sounds like it is growling at you. I went from a fixed length much lighter saw to this beast. I am a very strong, 240lb person and find this thing very difficult to use for more than a half hour straight. My back hurts for two days. It shocks me that the Echo version is heavier than this thing. You can cut more in a shorter time than with a lighter weight saw due to its raw power which makes up for some of the extra energy put out to use it. Then again this thing reaches out a long distance. I really like the locking system for the extension and the sliding harness hook. The harness strap is absolutely junk. Dollar store quality! Even with the strap on it, it requires a lot of left arm strength (if right handed) to move the head around while cutting. The pole has a little flex when out all the way but as expected. Starts up great but makes a metal sound on starting which I believe is the clutch assembly engaging. The engine is so powerful it almost sounds out of timing. It seems to me that it does not spin the chain as fast as my old pole saw. The shutoff button has a great feel and is very responsive. My second biggest complaint beyond the weight is the chain itself. I believe they put this smaller size chain on to reduce the weight of the bar and chain and not for better cutting. I would guess this chain will never last as long as one of the standard sizes. I find it easily gets hung-up in branches when cutting at almost vertical. This may be the case with any pole saw. Note: buy the case of oil and extend your 2 yr warranty to 4 yrs. Use the Citi Double credit card and extend it 2 more years through the citi card. Overall a very nice piece of equipment that should last me a lifetime. I hope I do not run into issues that some others have had. I love using it but require 800 Motrin, a massage and a three hour nap when I’m done. No joke! Maybe a little exaggerated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from nope Stihl you had to have known it wasnt a 'pro" piece of equipment, you redesigned the shaft, then cut power and put that little chincy chain and bar on it to compensate. throw the internals in the trash go get the guts out of a old one and call it a day...25 years of great stihl products...this one is junk
