    Great Reach and Power
This pole saw is an excellent tool for cutting lower branches in the juniper and pine trees on my property. It cut through branches as thick as 8 inches with ease. As I moved about on my property, which is on a hillside, I would turn the saw off but then it would start again with just a gentle pull of the starter rope without even disconnecting the strap or placing it on the ground. The pole is strong and provides excellent reach to high branches. It is reasonably lightweight, but after ... read more prolonged use, can feel heavy. It stores easily in my garage since the pole disconnects simply, allowing me to hang both the saw end and the motor end on the wall.

    Ideal for the home owner.
I have enjoy this saw on many projects so far. I am disappointed that the cover (dust cover cap) for the exposed ends when the saw is broken down in 2 pieces for storage and transporting was not in the package when I bought it was not in with the tools/manual package. This item was mention in the manual as it being supplied with saw but the Stihl dealer it was not included, I can only assume since it came already assembled on display that the dealer thought it was just shipping material and ... read more threw it away when they assembled it for display.

    awesome
i am a home user, was looking for pole saw, Stihl came recommended from a friend who owns almost all the saws Stihl makes, i am only 150 lbs, very lean and thin person, even this one feels heavy after an hour of cutting, still i had so much fun with this saw. it starts with one pull almost all the time, easy2start makes starting so easy i think my 10 yr old daughter can start it. once started it cuts branches like butter, nothing will be able to stop this saw, i have cut oak~pine with ease. i ... read more would recommend this pole saw over any other brand at any time. after i was done with my backyard, i volunteered to clean up my friends backyard. too much fun!!

    Typical Stihl Quality
Bought this to trim some branches that I had to keep moving out of my way when mowing my lawn. Sliced through Red Oak limbs like they were nothing. Very sharp, great quality. A little pricey, but a lifetime warranty goes a long way to offset the price.

    My go-to tool for trees
Love, Love, Love this pruner! A must-have for tree trimming. I have run over them with my truck & still works like a charm. The tool that comes up missing because everyone else wants to use it.

Great for reaching branches in high places.
I purchased the PP100 several years ago to prune branches on my property. It has proven to be an excellent hand tool for trimming and for reaching those hard to get branches. I would recommend the PP100 for those that demand HIGH QUALITY tools in their arsenal! You will be amazed at the size branches this tool will handle. Very useful tool!

Wish I had paid the high price years ago
Over the years I've purchased half a dozen pole mounted saw and clipper devices from those with ratcheting gears, long leverage arms, etc. NOTHING comes close the Stihl. Take care around the clipper blade. The first thing mine cut was the back of my knuckle as I pulled it from the packaging. I didn't feel the cut it was so sharp, and it effortlessly glides through sapwood limbs. With two hands on the rope and the pole against the trunk or a leg you can cut any living oak limb that will fit into ... read more the mouth of the cutter. The blade does not flex and makes a clean cut all the way through it's arc. I also bought the longest saw blade for its longer cutting stroke and to allow cutting larger diameter limbs. It has amazingly efficient teeth and the perfect angle. One or two pulls and it creates a deep enough groove to allow cutting on the pull AND push stroke. The little nub/stopper on the end prevents pulling the blade all the way through. A feature I didn't realize I wanted until I tried it. In a careless moment I left it in the fall area of a tree and the blade was bent over 90 degrees. However, when I freed the blade, it snapped back and remains straight as the day it was purchased. From the chainsaw protective chaps the screen faced hard hat, to all the chainsaws, chains, bars, Weed and Brush trimmers, oils and parts, there is no other "brand" that I have grown to trust so totally and across the entire product line. If they made cars, guns or anything else, I would be among the first buyers no matter the price.

    Superb Tool
I have 40+ acres of property with literally thousands of trees. I have used a ladder and hand pruners for years with mixed results. I finally decided to purchase a STIHL pole pruner. It is lightweight, easy to use, and very, very effective. the lopper takes down 1"+ branches, including hard dead wood, with ease. The pruning saw is very sharp, durable and cuts 2+" branches in seconds. I wish I had purchased one earlier.

    Perfect
This 16" hardened steel saw is an incredible value. I own an HT131 but prefer this PS80 with PP180 telescoping pole for most of my pruning. It powers through thick hardwood limbs with astounding speed and keeps on going for longer than any other saw I have owned! Blades cannot be sharpened but the longevity of this saw makes its price a bargain.

    ULTIMATE saw for pruning limbs.
I purchased the PS 80 Arboriculture saw with the PP800 extending pole several years ago to do high trimming in my wooded lot. I have found it to be easy to use, well balanced and light. Even fully extended, this saw performed well. GREAT VALUE for the price.

    Completely awesome yard tool
My 14 year old 12' Pole saw finally broke for good. I debated buying a 21' Japanese saw for awhile then I happened to see this Stihl saw at my local ace store. Once I had it in my hands It felt just great and was lighter than I expected. Made the ace manager measure the saw and it was almost 19' to the base of the saw blade. Took it home and started trimming my Queen palm trees and did t stop until it was dark! Very powerful saw blade and the ligament and hook cutting blades were super ... read more sharp. This Stihl was an absolute pleasure to use and its light weight and grip didn't tire this old 59 yo man! My only regret is not buyi g this a year ago

    More bang for your buck!!
Started my morning trimming a mesquite tree with a cheapo from the Depot. Had to stop working and took a short drive my local hardware store which happens to carry Stihl. Had a gas pole saw in my sights and on my mind, when I just happened to see the PP 800. Didn't have the funds for exactly the one I wanted the gas combi. Was a bit apprehensive about picking up another manual pole saw, how much could the difference be. Well when I got out of the truck and reached for my newly purchased PP 800 ... read more and proceeded to saw to my heart's content with little to no effort. Got lost in what I was doing and before I knew it my wife had to slap me around to let me know that I had trimmed more than what I was supposed to. Awsome tool highly recommend for any job

    pole
i have 3 and a medium size company. we use mainly for palms, probably 1000 per year. works great. you can improve the blade by making the small chopping blade double sided. the locking on the poles last a season. we drill the pole out and use pins. could be made better. however i could not do these palms without it

The saw cuts very fast, power is not a problem
Just bought this saw today to trim some tall oaks around my cabin. The saw is heavy with the large battery but is well balance with included carrying strap. Saw cuts very fast using little power from the battery. I used the saw for over an hour going around trees trimming branch, the instant start and stop make for quick work and long battery life. The saw cost held me back for awhile, but this is a professional tool that is well designed and work extremely well. No ladder is needed to trim ... read more trees around a two story house.

    Better than expected
Little Pico chain. Not as much power as the gas powered version. I borrowed one (HTA 65) from a friend and was surprised by how easy it was to use and the precision of the cut. I decided the cost was too much and bought two other brands that were cheaper. Sent them both back. Counted how many times I could have used the HTA 65 and clearly it was better than a hand pole saw in many cases. I have made the switch to battery power for leaf blower and small chain saw as well. The positives out weigh ... read more the negatives. Push a button. No exhaust. Almost no maintenance. Less noise. If you are wondering why your shoulders are sore and your neck hurts consider what happens when you hand pole saw when it gets stuck or just won't cut that branch that refuses to stay still. You will thank the designers of the HTA 65.
