    Stihl Motomix
I wanted to fuel my machines with alcohol free fuel. I see a lot of complaints about the bigger metal containers. I do not experience this problem because I either use a nozzle that connects to the can, but also because I put the fuel in my chainsaw fuel can which holds fuel and bar oil. I prefer to carry one can than a can of fuel and a jug of bar oil. A lot of you guys are too young to remember that engine oil and fuel cans were made of sheet metal cans, and the cans fuel were in rusted ... read more causing fuel problems. That's why i put in my plastic fuel can.

Excellent fuel that solves real problems for many users
I wish Stihl provided a little more technical detail about Motomix in its marketing, because I think that even more people would see that it really is a fair value given the problems that it solves. The Stihl brand fuel is one of the highest quality of the "canned" fuels on the market. A look at the MSDS shows that MotoMix is an alkylated fuel, which makes it a very close cousin to that of aviation gasoline. The main differences between the Stihl fuel and aviation fuel is lower octane ... read more (good), no lead (good) and pre-added synthetic lubricant (highly convenient). Still's competitors' MSDS sheets show that they allow more "lesser grade" gasoline constituents than Motomix. The Stihl fuel does not have the strong smell of automotive gasoline because it does not have benzene in it. This makes using a two-stroke engine much less smelly than with car gas. Also, being a straight-run alkylate fuel, it is extremely stable, just like aviation fuel. For the occasional power equipment user, using this fuel is simply the least expensive option given the major degradation and gumming problems caused by automotive grade fuels. There's no way you can take your equipment in for service for less than the price of even a case of MotoMix. For a pro user, they will see little value in this fuel for daily usage since the equipment doesn't sit long enough for the fuel to degrade and cause problems.. For winter storage, MotoMix is still a good bet even for the pro. Give it a whirl. You'll be impressed at the things you don't have to worry about later.

    Worth every penny
If you're a casual user like myself, this product is worth every penny. You need super fresh fuel to run these machines, so unless you do lots and lots of work, the 1 gallon fuel can you pre-mix yourself will just sit there and go bad. Then, when you need the chainsaw, you'll be constantly fighting to get it to work right if at all and it is because of the bad fuel. Motomix has a 2 year shelf life after you open the can. I'm 100 percent sold on this product. It solved the problems I was having. ... read more Don't hesitate about the price. Buy it. You'll save yourself tons of hassle.

    Excellent Product
I have tried cheaper brands with poor results. This oil keeps the chain oiled and bar cooler.

Platinum Bar Oil is a CUT-ABOVE the Rest !
I was skeptical at first browse of this product. I thought, at the time, there was no good reason to swap from my many years of using Woodcutter Bar & Chain Oil. This is my first year using Platinum Bar & Chain Oil. What I have discovered is that it takes less overall quantity of this Oil to achieve the same level of lubrication provided by it's predecessor. Another benefit is this Oil is not as temperature-sensitive as the Woodcutter Bar & Chain Oil is. In other words, it will perform ... read more satisfactorily at somewhat lower temperatures before you ultimately need to switch over to Winter Bar & Chain Oil. It will take you some time to get used to having less visible Oil on your Chain, but the proof of proper lubrication is a cool-running Bar that isn't burning the paint off! However, if you have one of the newer Saws, be prepared to turn-up the Oil Quantity setting to near maximum level...even when using Platinum Bar & Chain Oil. I found the "E" setting on my new MS-362,461, & 661 to be too lean with 20", 25", & 32" Bars, respectively. So, I guess this means that the Woodcutter Bar & Chain Oil may be an unsatisfactory choice for proper lubrication on the newer Saws with lower-volume Oil Pumps & newer Bars with smaller Oil Delivery Holes.

    This can is TOUGH!
This can will withstand the wear & tear of working in the woods. The cap is a bit hard to remove because of the serrations on it that are designed to keep it from working loose, but a little practice makes it easier. The handles make it easy to dispense or carry. One should make certain they depressurize the contents prior to fueling. Pressurization can result due to exposure to heat. Failure to do so may cause a rapid, unwanted ejection of fuel. This may be accomplished by depressing the ... read more plunger briefly before tipping the can for fueling. I suggest an optional model marked or colored for TWO-CYCLE MIX.

    Best cans ever
I now own five of these cans. I use them for fueling all my equipment. The reason I have so many is that I keep extra fuel on hand for our generator due to outages. I also put them on the trailer for snowmobile trips up north. They are excellent and don't leak at all. They don't even leak when hauled around in the back of my truck. The best thing is that you can position them properly and then just press the button to start the flow of fuel. No more messes!

This product does what it is supposed to do.
This is the first gas can I have ever used that is truly a no spill can. I have three of these and they work. You can tilt the can so the spout is vertical and it will not spill. Open it up and it flows freely. Release it and the flow immediately stops. Great product. Well worth the extra cost for these cans.

    Good product, but pricey
I like this oil for it's health and environmental benefits. It also has very good cold flow characteristics. The regular oil flows very slowly and is hard to poor in winter conditions. This oil flows well and is easy to pour. I haven't seen any difference in wear on bar or chains through 2 gallons of use.

    BBQ smoking wood
I cut and use wood for BBQ smoking and always fret about using petroleum based bar oils in regards to health and taste. I've considered using vegetable oil but was not sure which oil to use and how it would perform in a chainsaw. Seeing as how Stihl has their brand on this stuff, I have no doubt that this is what I've been looking for.

healthier for me, lubes the saw well
Unfortunately pricey. Any chainsaw sprays you with bar oil. I like the fact that I smell like french fries at the end of the day rather than petroleum. I would rather breath and bathe in vegetable oil than petrol. The oil washes out of your clothes easily with no residual smell in an ordinary wash. The saw seems to like it just fine. It seems to have a higher viscosity and it seems to use less, but I have not done a scientific side by side test with the regular bar lube. Hard to find product, ... read more dealers are not stocking it.

More power in all my Fuel Mix Engines
I tried out the HP Ultra oil to get the extended warranty on my pole pruner, Hedge Trimmer and Blower. They run great with this oil, no super bad odor, no blue smoke, just smooth running engines, BUT what I didn't expect was when I fed it to a 13 year old Husqvarna String Trimmer that had run on Husk'ie oil its whole life. just the beginning of the tank through the machine and it magically picked up what I would estimate to be about 200 RPM and ran much better than before. WOW!! I always use ... read more fresh gas 91RON and factory oil in my machines, so this was a shock!! I expect that STIHL engines would run well on it, but I was shocked about the performance gains in the 13 year old trimmer!!!! I will never run anything else in any of my engines. HP Ultra is well worth the marginal increase in cost.

    good oil
I started using this oil when it first came out, its the only oil that the local store sells, its not that much higher in price, over the lower grade of oil, the only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn'e have much color to the gas when mixed, whish Stihl would make it a darker color.

    EXPERIRECED THE RESULTS
At the City of Newport News we use no other oil except Stihl's Ultra oil. We mix upwards of 2700 gallons of fuel for our fleet yearly. Maintenance costs went down and production went up and its environmentally friendly too.

The best and only one to use.
My family has been using Stihl for years. 50 plus years. From chain saws to weed eaters and blowers. Been used on the from and job sites. Always starts. But I only of used Stihl oil's in them. Other brands have let me done several times. Plus other Brand's may cost less but you get what you pay for. I have 4 saw's one I know is very old. But one pull and it always started. The secret to all this is to use only Stihl oil's and that will last you for years to come. Personal or prefsanal.

The only 2 cycle oil I use in my chainsaws and weedeater
I use Stihl Performance Oil in all my tools - 009, 044, MS 660 and FS85 Pro and I have not had any motor issues, all still have great compression with very little smoke from the exhaust. The 009 and 044 are 15 years + old and both have had 1 spark plug change in all this time.I check the plugs every month, nice brown tint indicating a good burn of the fuel and oil. I have replaced bars and chains numerous times as these saws get worked every other week but the motors run like new. Very pleased ... read more with this oil......

    Great Mixing Oil
I have been using this oil in my Stihl products since 1999. I have two chainsaws, two weedeaters, and a blower. Everything starts after sitting for a while. I don't use the saws but once or twice a year and don't drain the fuel and never have any issues. The first saw purchased in 99 still has never even had a carb rebuild. Keep in mind this oil has a fuel stabilizer in it when comparing prices.
