    Very powerful
Good ergonomics, very powerful. Starts very good. Can't stand small engines that are hard to start. If it does not start on the second pull its out of gas. I run only non ethanol fuel to reduce build up and for extended fuel life. I have a lot of trees. Oaks and hickory. This thing blows large piles of hickory nuts almost like leaves. Had it for a year now and it gets a real workout at my place. I replaced a smaller husqvarna with this thing when it got hard to start. It runs circles around any ... read more blower I have ever used

    BR600 backpack blower
I recently bought a br600 backpack blower. It starts easy, runs great, plenty of power. The only complaints I have with is that the straps are to close together for me and I am not a big person, it is hard to get the second strap on because of this. I have the straps as loose as they can be. My second complaint is that this unit needs a third strap to hold the two straps together in front, they,(straps) keep working their way off my shoulders.

    what a great product!
I have had this blower for a year now. I'm completely sold. I had a hard time turning loose of the money when I first bought it. I had a handheld blower for years, and when the leaves got so high I had to get out the rake to finish. Now you just go and blow.. It also starts so easy. I pull it once, it starts, that it. Wish I had bought this 10 years ago! You won't be sorry!

    Treat yourself!
Ok, I normally bought power equipment by price point first. After being in the lawn business and in maintanence I guarantee this...if you want durability, dependability and efficiency you need to try Stihl! It is by far those most well designed equipment around. Give yourself a great gift!

I am very satisfied with my Stihl product
i have read reviews on hard starting and flooding problems with Stihl products. I had that problem with my first purchase and took it back to the dealer. He got it started and then took the time to show me what to do and what not to do. I love all three of the gas driven products I have and would not buy a different brand.

    excellent for the average home
You can't beat the power of a gas engine! I had a battery blower prior to this and it was just ok. This Stihl 56 is great. Light enough to carry and more power. The very best thing is the eave trough cleaning attachment. In a few minutes I can walk around my home and clear every gutter and downspout without a ladder. Time saving and significantly safer.

    This is one sweet machine!
Starts fast and easily as long as you start it as instructed in your manual. It has superb power and is comfortable to operate, as long as you keep your posture correct and don't slouch your shoulders. That being said, this blower is the best I've operated in my 30 yrs. experience and I've tried a few different brands over those years. Best of all it's MADE IN AMERICA! (always keep fresh gas or store as recommended in the owners manual, I always use a fuel preservative in all my equipment before ... read more storage with great results)

best power to weight ratio of any blower with cool features
i have been a stihl fan for years except blowers. i saw this the other day , demoed it and took it home. you hit a home run with this one stihl. its light and powerful. the adjustable nozzle works great for me to adapt to my needs. it can play ball with the two strongest blowers out there.. the echo pb770t and redmax ebz8500.. and is lighter. i own all three blowers mentioned above and use them all but cant keep my br450 off my back. love it stihl. p.s. stihl i also own ( orange and white ;) ... read more ) ms192 ms290 fs100rx fc110 bt45 hl100

    great for larger yards
own a acre and a half lot in Texas with over 35 large mature oak trees. I previously would rake the leaves in the fall and winter and it seemed like I was spending almost three full weekends to complete. Purchased this blower based on the recommendation of a park department employee that I saw using a similar but larger unit in a city park. Honestly, this blower has cut my work down to about 4 hours. Great machine even though a little bit on the pricey side but then again you get what you pay for.

    top notch product
I've always heard Stihl was a good product but never really gave it much thought on buying one I was content over the years buying the cheap store brand or the home center standers ... I got tired of having to replace them with in a year or two because of their cheap quality ..I got my first stihl and could not be happier starts first pull each and every time and the power is bar none the best ,,, I should have bought this product years ago instead of wasting money on all the other ones...

    Good stuff - much improved
This is an improved version of the previous model which I used and abused for many years. I think the ergonomics are better but the big deal is it's easy to start and runs strong without a lot of warm up. Also the fuel cap is a huge improvement. Overall I'm very pleased.

    Powerful and Lightweight
One season down, no issues. Impressive power. Will blow wet grass off the driveway, wow. high volume. I Like the intake on the outside (right handed) so it doesn't suck your pant leg in. Its a different class of garden tool altogether. You can tell by its smooth idle, and when rpm drops it sounds like a motorcycle (ring, ding, ding,) if you catch my drift. It has that big engine quality. Takes about 1 minute to warm up, cold choke works great, Only gripe is the half choke when warm, takes ... read more several pulls to restart. Had a different major brand before and never would start, ever. I Run Stihl premixed or equal always.

Great blower, only a few minor suggestions
Excellent product. Made what I thought would be drudgery a fun job, and a quickly-done job. I only have a few minor quibbles. I'm left-handed so using the righty-only blower took some getting used to, and is still somewhat awkward for me. The hose between the blower itself and the rigid plastic arm and hand controls needs to be longer. I find myself needing to crook my elbow behind the plane of my standing body to hold the control handle, which limits the movement available in that arm and ... read more becomes somewhat uncomfortable over time. It feels like being restrained. This hose restriction requires me to walk back and forth more when blowing since I am unable to my extend my right arm to the position I would intuitively if the hose were longer.

    EXCELLENT
I had a craftsman leaf blower.. just threw it in the trash... was goin to take it to my cabin, but after using the stihl 61, I'm just going to go buy another one for up north. Well worth the money!

    Built to last
I purchased the BGE 61 in the month of January and I have not had a chance to use it for it's intended purpose as of yet because any stray leaves that may exist on my property are buried under a foot or so of snow. I have, however, used it for MY intended purpose, to dry my car after washing without creating any swirl marks on my vehicle. It performed quietly and efficiently to my complete satisfaction. I do tend to wash my cars very early on weekend mornings, so the BGE 61's lower volume should ... read more be appreciated when spring finally comes if my neighbor's windows are open for fresh air. I certainly look forward to incorporating the BGE 61 for its primary use where, I'm sure, it will perform over and above my expectations in comparison to anything I've used to blow leaves during my Fall and Spring cleanups in the past. I always believed; Buy less but buy good. Stihl, thank you for not skimping or cutting corners and doing what it takes to build a superior product.

    Great Blower
I purchased this blower 3 years ago for fall leaf cleanup and general homeowner use. It gets used at least once a week for cleaning grass clipping from garage, driveway and street. One of the things I appreciate about the blower is that it starts very easily. When the engine is cold, I can always start the blower with three pulls. The blower idles well and has a lot of power for moving leaves and debris-even when wet. I've read other reviews about hard starting and rough running but honestly, ... read more I have had no such issues. I am very pleased with this blower and have had zero issues.

    Awesome Leaf Blower!
I've had a BG86 blower for 2 years now and love it. I've owned the cheap box hardware store blowers in the past and they've all broken too quickly. This STIHL BG86 is really reliable and very easy to start no more than 2 pulls every time! If you have a lot of leaves to deal with then this is THE blower for you. The features are handy including the throttle lock so the throttle trigger doesn't have to be constantly pulled. Do your self a favor and buy one!

    It's a stihl !!!!
I purchased the BG 86 this morning from the local Stihl dealer. He poured fuel into the tank and it started on the second pull. I got it home and it again started on the second pull. I used it for half an hour to move a lot of pine needles and leaves. It was comfortable to use, didn't kick to one side like my old Craftsman that was only 3 years old and stopped running. Hopefully this blower will continue to work as well as my Stihl chainsaw, grass trimmer and hedge trimmer have.
