One power head with tremendous versatility
Purchased this unit a year ago to trim a rather tall and long cedar hedgerow. Since that time I have added the string trimmer and the pole pruner. Recently used the pole pruner to remove the same hedgerow and it performed flawlessly. This tool has far exceeded all expectations I had prior to purchase and will continue to add attachments to increase it's usefulness.

Great residential multi-tasking tool with a strong motor.
Worth every penny, well worth every dollar. Strong motor with more power than any other residential product on the market. A great investment, purchased the head and trimmer first and the curved edger second. Invest in the quick change trimmer head over the standard. The curved edger has plenty of power and it easy to use. Use premium non-ethenal gas and Stihl 2 cycle oil and your motor will run great. Change the air and fuel filter yearly too. The power and dependability of Stihl makes their ... read more products worth every penny, well dollar. GS in Germantown, TN.

This product is a great homeowner entry level KombiMotor. Outstanding value for the investment.
I have been using commercial grade Stihl Tools for the lsat 15 years as a Maintenance Supervisor and a Facilities Director. I made sure every property I managed that had it's own landscaping crew was using Stihl Products as fast as I could get them. There is simply no better lineup of landscaping tools to be had. Once I used Stihl at work I began to buy Stihl products for my house. The Kombisystem is a system before it's time! I own a commercial system and just bought the KM 56 RC- E, which ... read more accepts all tools the commercial system uses and is easy start. A Great Attachment
Originally bought KM 55 powerhead with straight shaft trimmer 20 years ago. When I needed a blade attachment last year, I returned to Reynolds in Fishers, Indiana. The salesman who helped me with original purchase still had record of my purchase and recommended this blade. Works awesome on tall weeds and brush. Can't say enough about the professionalism of independent Stihl dealers. Go to big box stores for insulation and drywall. For quality tools to last, Stihl dealer is the only way to go!

Cutter works well and holds up to some abuse. Cut an acre of tall weeds with little trouble. Matched with KM 94 trimmer head, its a great combo.

    Lightweight power
Im a professional trail builder, so when I choose a power tool I'm looking for the optimal balance of power and weight. Often walking miles through dense brush and steep terrain, I can't afford to lug around extra weight. I have cleared miles of 1-2" autumn olive, brush, branches, vines, and understory growth with the adjustable hedge trimmer, an absolute beast. This unit checks all the boxes. Reliable, powerful, lightweight 2 cycle power. The extensive positive reviews sealed the deal for me. ... read more Use an ethanol free pre-mix fuel and it will start easy for life.

    Get this one
I originally bought a KM-111R. Used it for about 10 minutes and brought it back. WAY to heavy for general trimming work, very awkward to trim grass with and did not like the 4 cycle engine. You can't hold the thing at a nice constant speed by feathering the throttle while trimming like a 2 stroke. Had the dealer order me a KM-94R and I'll never look back. Does a great job, plenty of power and lightweight. Do yourself a favor, don't waste your time with the others, get the KM-94R. You won't regret it!

    Should have bought sooner
I've only had the unit about a month now but I regret not buying it when they first came out. It has more than enough power for trimming and doesn't bog in the big stuff. I've used FS-90s professionally and this feels like it has just as much power but in a light weight two stroke. It handles the blower attachment and pole saw very good too. The 94 needs about 2-3 minutes to get warmed up and get to full power but once it does, it's an absolute beast. It seems to be extremely fuel efficient ... read more too. Time will tell how it holds up but my experience with Stihl products has been nothing but excellent.

    MUCH better than spike tines
Bolo tines do a much better job of tilling soil and cutting roots than the standard spike tines. also works good for mixing in compost and blending soils.

    Small Light duty tool
I ve used this tool in my wifes rose garden. I found it to be easy to control and has very good digging depth. When I purchised my Yard boss I also bought the Wheel Attachment, Makes tilling with the BOLO Tine Cultivator alot Safer and very easy to control. As with all of the Attachments very simple to maintain and easy to clean. Really cuts up the dirt clods and mixes the soil well. Saves alot of time and easy on the back!

    Incredible!!
This really is the attachment that I bought my Yard Boss for. Picked it up today, and the dealer instructed me on how to attach it. I referred to the owner’s manual also, and it took me about 20-30 minutes to swap the tiller attachment for the dethatcher attachment. This was the first attachment switch that I have done, and I was quite careful. The next switch will be under 15 minutes. I mowed my lawn with my self-propelled Honda walk-behind, to minimize the height of the grass. I then used the ... read more Stihl Yard Boss with the dethatcher attachment. I should mention that I also have the wheel kit on my Yard Boss, and in my opinion, it is a “must have.” The dethatching was quite easy, and the speed walking behind, was about the speed of my mower. It has been at least 9 years since my lawn has been dethached, so the thatch was quite heavy. The machine never struggled, and I never struggled. The Yard Boss brought to the surface a nice layer of dead grass. The live grass was undamaged, and after mowing with a bagger after the dethatching, I filled my mower bag with old dead grass about every 100 square feet. Visual inspection of the lawn afterwards, showed abundant areas where the thatch was almost completely gone, exposing bare soil. After one pass, I would estimate that 80-90 percent of the thatch was cleared. After-inspection of the tool itself, showed tines in like new condition. There was zero clogging of the mechanism with dead grass. This is going to be a Spring/Fall tool for me with overseeding done at the same time. This attachment is a Home Run.

Just purchased and used this afternoon
I had to replant my back yard due to weeds and just not good. The thought of racking the yard was not a good thought. When I got this and started to cultivate my yard I was making faster progress then I thought. I tried to cultivate around a cut down tree that had a stump grinder job and it worked like a charm. This saved my back and body from days of racking. Its light and not like a regular roto-tiller which is NOT what I wanted to achieve. Trail building workhorse
The MM55 and Pick Tines have been great for building trails, whether cutting bench or harvesting soil. Even in the rocky northeast it saves a lot of pick and hoe strikes. We need more time with it to see how (or if) it continues to perform. So far so good, and we are certainly putting some hard hours on it in the mountains of the Hudson Valley. We hope to try the Bolo tines soon.
