Best for small lawns in dense neighborhoods.
This RMA 370 mower serves my unique situation very well. At age 71, I can no longer maintain a tractor and mower deck myself, let alone lug cans of gasoline around. This attractive little machine is ultra simple to recharge and to operate with the flick of a switch. The grass catcher is not really needed since it mulches and scatters the clippings well even without the special mulching blade and attachment. The room it takes up in the garage compares with that of the vacuum cleaner in your house.

Quality product with a few limitations
The RMA 370 worked flawlessly the first year. My quarter acre St. Augustine yard took two charges to mow. I love the low maintenance of a battery operated mower. The second year I moved to a one acre lot with about 1/3rd of it Cavelier Zoysia which proved somewhat challenging for the little mower. I had to switch to a higher blade setting since the wheels occasionally fall into holes in uneven areas suddenly dropping to cut stems instead of leaves, which are really tough. So tough that a ... read more repeated occurrences cause a pulley to start slipping on its shaft creating a whining noise and yielding inadequate power to the blade. I got a second battery to minimize recharge delays. The older battery now has less power and capacity than the new one, but still proves adequate.

    Awesome machine!
I acquired this to compliment my FSA 85 (string trimmer), HSA 65 (hedge trimmer) and BGA 85 (hand-held blower) and am extremely happy with all of these tools! No longer do I need to pull around a 100' extension cord or mess with a pull rope. No more carburator problems either! Stihl has hit the head of the nail with this technology in a VERY LARGE WAY! BTW...I traded in my McLane mower last year for a competitor's battery lawnmower, and I returned it last December to the manufactirer #they were ... read more kind enough to give me a full refund#. This mower is the bomb!

Finally a Stihl Lamnmower that looks like a lawnmower
The power is a little less than gas engine (as expected), but not significantly less. The battery life is decent. I cut about 5000 sq ft in 30 min and it makes it on one charge. They really should have added self-propelling, but if you have a relatively flat lot that shouldn't bother you too much. I like the classic look, the earlier models were a little too George Jetson for me.

Great addition to my battery line of Stihl tools
Great mower. Was in at charm engine, in Millersburg, oh and seen this mower. Bought it as soon as I layed eyes on it. I have a tsa 230 9" battery cut off saw and love the power it has. So with two batteries I knew it would have plenty of power. Took it home and mowed the grass and yard is 60'x100' and it mowed the whole yard on a 1/4 % of one battery on eco mode. Great product can't wait to buy more battery powered tools from Stihl. Love the handle grip design also. Makes it easy to hold on ... read more too when mowing. And less fatigue.

Easy to use, efficient, less noise.
I have always said that I would never buy an electric mower, but I also always said that if STIHL made a mower I would buy it. So when I bought a house with a lawn, I also bought the RMA 510. It is easy to use, has a simple design, the battery lasts much longer than I expected. I do not like the missing feature of self propelled, but I need my excercise anyways. I also found the power to be a bit less than a commercial grade walk behind mower, Therefore it does not create enough vacuum for my ... read more preference, however I beleive it is all the mower I need for my house. As a fomer landscaper and turfgrass expert I would reccomend this mower to follk with around 1000 square foot lawns or less, on relatively flat ground. For folks with more I would reccomend borrowing or demoing 1 first.
