Rated 1 out of 5 by from I have a landscape business, I’ve bought 3 or 4 pair, every one the nut or bolt strips out and they are are useless. I won’t buy any more. I have a landscape business. I’ve bought 3 or 4 of these, every one the nut has striped out and made them useless. Fix this problem and you’ll have a good product. I won’t be buying anymore.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for occasional use. I have a 120 tree apple orchard and purchased these to prune. Have had trouble with the nut backing off and the blades going loose several times. Also the blade lock came loose and the screw fell out and it got lost in the tall grass. These are great quality compared to others but I expect more from Stihl. They should be using a better quality deformed thread locknut and also using locktite too at assembly. then they would probably hold together and I would rate them higher then. I replaced them with pp60 and I would very highly recommend anyone who can afford the extra cost to buy pp60 pp70 or pp80 instead. They are all similar but made for custom fit of different size hands. The 60-70-80 series is triple the price but well worth it in my opinion.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same issue with the nut stripping out I run a landscape business. I really liked these pruners however, after less than a year the nut has stripped out and it came apart on the job site and I wasn’t able to finish pruning something. Had to run to my local box store to buy a pair to finish. I was really hoping I could find the replacement part because they are comfortable easy to use and I’ve taken the time to sharpen them continuously thinking they would last for some years. I can’t say whether I would recommend or not I guess it just depends on how much use you intend to get out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stihl PP 10 Pruner These pruners are light weight, non rusting, and comfortable, I do wear the Stihl goatskin gloves when pruning. I have a little tool that i touch up the blade during cutting, and spray them with silicon for storage.I use these for 1/2 inch and smaller diameter limbs, and they cut with no problemsI have used them in emergencies to cut rope and twine.I did get these on sale, these are not throw away pruners, if you wear out the blade it is replaceable, and can be passed down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I have a vineyard, a huge berry patch, a 500 tree orchard, and gardens galore. I have bought at least 1 of every brand of pruner available to me, from low dollar cheapies to the high dollar brands. By the way, it doesn't matter what the price, my crew and I loose them equally. A good sturdy, sharp, and reliable pruner that fits your hand well is by far the best to have around, and the PP10 is leaps and bounds above the rest. The handles are long enough to give you plenty of leverage and power to cut the bigger stuff (a lot of my blackberry canes are an inch plus, and I have no problem pruning apple limbs at 3/4"), and the right size to do the precision pruning. The shape and grip on the PP10 fits well in my hand, and even after pruning all day in my apple orchard, my hands do not hurt like they do when I use other brands. The steel blade comes very sharp, and sharpens quickly and easily with little effort (a mark of good steel). The price point is very reasonable, as I have spent a lot more for a pair that I do not like as much. I think I own around 10 pairs, just bought another pair the other day, and I have only had one fail on me. Lost the locking nut, and it came apart on me (about 7 years old now). Parts are on the way.To sum it up, the PP10 is a great pruning tool, I highly recommend the PP10 because of the shape, size, smooth operation, construction, power, control, feel, weight (perfect), reliability, price, value, workmanship, and ease of use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bolt is bad This is my second pair of these hand pruners and the bolt which holds them together has stripped out on both pair after a short amount of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A tool that is made with 90% metal I have a landscaping business and I need reliable tools that don't break. I have noticed a trend that tools are being made more and more out of plastic. I was very pleased that this pair of shears was made of alluminium. The quality of cut and the smoothness of the cut was outstanding. Very sharp, and very durable, just like all of the other Stihl products that I own. There is a reason only one tool of mine is not Stihl, and that will be replaced with a Stihl in the very near future. Thank you Stihl for making a quality product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The nut stripped and replacement parts cannot be purchased I have probably a dozer Stihl products and love all but one, the PP 10.I purchased the PP 10 as a present for my wife. She only occasionally uses it but after about 3 years, the nut that holds the sheers together popped off. Being a mechanic (as well as a mechanical engineer), I tried to replace it. Nope, stripped. I then went to my Stihl dealership where I purchased it to acquire a replacement nut. No such part available. "This is considered a disposable tool." Not cool. If I wanted a disposable tool, I would have purchased it at Walmart.
