    More information

  • STIHL Easy2Start™ (E)
The STIHL Easy2Start™ system makes starting STIHL outdoor power tools almost effortless, eliminating the need for a strong pull of the starting cord. This advanced starting system is designed to make starting STIHL products easier. The specific system may vary by model, but in each case, a quick pull overcomes the engine’s compression to minimize the strength and effort required to start. Available on selected products.
  • Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA) (B)
The Quick Chain Adjuster (QCA) (B) allows the user to adjust the tension of the chain without the use of tools. This allows for easy chain adjustment.

  • IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor
The IntelliCarb™ Compensating Carburetor is designed to automatically adjust the air/fuel ratio when the air filter becomes restricted or partially clogged and maintains the engine’s correct RPM. IntelliCarb™ uses air from the clean side of the air filter to control the diaphragm and flow of fuel. As the air filter becomes dirty and less air is available for the carburetor, the IntelliCarb™ system adjusts the fuel flow to compensate for the decrease in air flow. This is in contrast to typical carburetors that utilize this air from the “dirty” side of the air box.

MS 180 C-BE is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 284.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic saw, power to weight is perfect Saw is now 1 yr. old. I have been very pleased with it thus far. It is much more powerful than I expected. Starts on 2-3 pulls when cold. 1 when hot. Not for heavy-duty use but I have cut a lot of wood with it plus storm damage trees. The chain is easy to replace and easy to keep correct tension. I have had absolutely no problems with it and would not hesitate to buy another if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stihl 180 C Lightweight easy start I purchased the Stihl 180 C b/c as an older adult 60+ I had a hard time starting the other chain saws too hard to pull so the easy start and light weight of this chain saw worked out great for me. It went through 12"+ logs with no problems really a great machine and I would recommend this to every senior looking for something with a light weight and easy start. and, Yes I am a woman!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Stihl I ever bought Let me start by saying that I have bought Stihl for the past 25 years and have been well pleased by ALL of the products. I really believe that they make a superior product, the best of all outdoor power equipment. However, the MS 180c is a lemon. I bought it new 24 months ago, and it has given me nothing but problems. Even on the first tank of fuel, it would run a while, then bog-down and not rev up. Idle was OK, but it would just not go any further than 1/4 throttle. Yes, I was using Stihl oil and fresh, low ethanol fuel. After letting it cool down it would start right up, but the problem persists. A professional mechanic, I removed and cleaned carb three times, and no difference. Checking on line, this seems to be a common problem with this saw. It was used infrequently, with all of the gas ran out and Stabil inserted before storage. It started right up no matter how long it had been sitting, and ran great for 10-15 minutes, full power. But, it would start to bog down, and was useless any more for a few hours until it cooled all the way down. I never abuse my equipment, and take excellent care of it. Can't figure it out. I was informed that this is due to emissions regulations, and I should try and replace the carburetor. I chose to replace the saw. I bought a MS271, which cost a little more, but was a much more superior piece of equipment.Hopefully, the 271 will be a much better saw, I really do still believe in Stihls superior quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat a stihl! After purchasing this chainsaw and using It the very next day to cut 3 cord's of wood I was very pleased with this product. Still running good with no problems whatsoever.even the chain is still sharp! I'll never purchase anything other than a stihl again, and the seller at Cal Ranch, where I purchased the saw were extremely helpful and great. 5 Star rating to stihl!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wish the saw had more power I was interested in a larger saw, but the salesman talked me into the smaller one... I regret the decision. It stalls out more than it should. Love the easy start capability and the easy chain adjust feature though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great choice for a rookie female! I love this saw! I was attracted to the light weight and easy-start features and haven't been disappointed. As a woman inexperienced with chain saws, I didn't want to fight with a big, heavy saw that's hard to start. I use the saw for cutting brush, cutting tree limbs, and other small chores. Guys who have LOTS of experience love the saw for bigger jobs, too. The dealer was very helpful and gave me good advice on basic use of the saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts easy, quick chain adjust is simple, love it I have struggled for years with another brand. I thought all chain saws were the same. Big mistake. I wasted more time and money on inferior products. I should have bought Stihl a long time ago. And the cost wasn't even any more than the other brands. I wont make that mistake again. I'm a Stihl customer for life. Thanks for making a quality product, and making here in the U.S.A.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from cheap parts hard to start and cover keeps falling off. cheaply made cover had a piece of pressed metal to hold down cover and it fell off the first day it was used. I wish that it had a primer bulb on it. At least 50 pulls to get it started. It's no husky
