STIHL RAPID™ Super is a reduced vibration saw chain. A cutter and tie strap design reduces vibration levels significantly while still utilizing the aggressive full chisel cutter design.

Product Description

STIHL RAPID™ Super is an extremely fast-cutting chain. Its cutter and tie strap design reduces vibration levels significantly while still utilizing the aggressive full-chisel design. The razor-edged, square-cornered cutter shape ensures minimum chain friction for an exceptionally smooth and clean cut in hard or frozen wood. It offers excellent cutting and plunge-cutting efficiency. RS chain typically cuts faster than RM chain, but requires careful sharpening and maintenance to continue to perform well.

Applications: Best suited for higher-powered chainsaws, the RS chain is ideal for forestry and industry, including felling, bucking and limbing. These aggressive cutting chains are designed for trained professional cutters with extraordinary cutting needs.

STIHL recommends using low-kickback, green-labeled chain and green-labeled reduced-kickback bars on all powerheads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great saw chain to use. This is a great Chain to use. It is highly reliable and I use it on my MS260 PRO AND MY MS311. You must maintain it for it to cut good. I hand file all my R.S.Chains and find after they are used 3 times to put an edge on it. Please use and follow all Safety Rules on using this chain. Keep it out the Dirt or you will Dull it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great chain for the I use this chain exclusivly on all of my saws. MS261 w/ MM and ign advance and a MS211 w/ MM and ign advance. If you keep it out of the dirt, it will just blast through wood. Keep it sharp, and keep the rakers set right and watch the chips fly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST Choice for Multi-Purpose Use! I've used this chain for years & came back to it when I recently purchased an MS-362 C-M with a 20" Rollomatic ES Light bar. I would call it my preferred choice when trimming limbs on large trees, cutting lengths of firewood, or in other applications where RSF (skip-tooth) is not desirable.Let your teenager cut his teeth with this prior to packing him out with RSF chain! I may resort back to this chain on my MS-661 R-CM with a 32" Rollomatic ES Light bar when Mother Nature says my aging frame has had enough! This chain is the easiest to dress & maintain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wicked Fast, Economical and Easy to Live With I’ve used the RSK chain before on my MS661 R C-M in 25” and wanted to see the difference with RS chain. Honestly the cutting performance is about the same as the RSK.After some digging to determine the difference between the RSK and the RS here is what I’ve found.RS - full chisel, bigger raker, more readily available on the shelf at my dealers and in a anti-vibration link(chassis)RSK - also full chisel, smaller raker, must be ordered by my dealer, classic links (non-low vibration/chassis) Honestly running both I can’t tell a difference but I don’t do it daily so maybe you save a nanosecond with the RSK. What I do notice is that I can go buy this any day at my dealer and I have to wait days for the RSK so this is now my go to chain for my saw. Running it in 20”, 25”, 36” with no issues. Great chain right out of the box.. it’s grabby so it demands respect when using it but the results are outstanding. I have about 250 cuts in 16” pine with it and it still feels like I took it out of the box. Great value great performance great availability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best chisel chain made This is by far the fastest and best chain I've ever used. I have the MS 291 and this thing eats wood like a madman. The chain is not meant for beginners and you should have quite a bit of skill before attempting it. I use the Dremel tool with the stihl roto bits to sharpen the chain but you have to take your time and make sure your angles are perfect and use common sense and skill. The chain is hard to sharpen if you did not have sharpening skills take it to the shop. I have used stihl products for over 20 years and in my opinion there the best saws and chains I've ever used bar none. By 1 it will be the best move you ever made and you won't be sorry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast Cutter - for the experienced Great Chain, but only if you've got a lot of cutting time under your belt. I use this chain when I've got a lot of bucking to do. I use the other safety chain (RM3) for limbing, difficult position cutting, or my hands are getting tired (where there's greater risk). I just used this chain again this weekend for a pile of bucking and it's great. Super Fast cuts and it does a great job of throwing the chips. (I was getting "chips" over an inch long). I only use the Stihl 2in1 sharpener and never have a problem with this chain being super sharp and cutting straight. I use RS / RM3 & always keep a sharpened spare chain in my bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good, fast cutting chain. I run this chain on my MS311. It has done very well. When its sharp it will eat through the log like butter. I cut 3 truck loads of wood before I had to sharpen it. If you aren't very good at sharpening. take it to a shop. If you are off on the angle the least bit, this chain will barely pull the bar through the wood. I learned this by hastily sharpening it one time with a file and no guide. Keep the tip out of the ground too. It will dull it quick with just the slightest touch into dirt. I personally haven't noticed excessive kickback, but I only use the 311 on bigger stuff after I've topped the tree out with a smaller saw. I keep an extra in my box in case I hit something and dull it, saves me from sharpening in the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First thing I buy after getting new saw This is the first thing I buy after getting a new saw. I don't run any other chain. It does have a good bit of kick back so if your new to a saw I wouldnt get it.
