High-performance saws to help make your job easier

When it comes to logging, farming, land clearing, tree service and big firewood...
When it comes to logging, farming, land clearing, tree service and big firewood cutting jobs, professionals trust the unique features that make STIHL the #1 selling brand of gasoline-powered handheld outdoor power equipment in America**. And at STIHL, we have a particular fondness for our professional category chainsaws. It’s where we built our reputation in the first place. To help you identify model features, look for these corresponding symbols: C = Comfort feature, E = Easy2Start™, Q = an additional chain braking system, R = wrap handle, and M = STIHL M-Tronic™.

Andreas Stihl developed the first electric chainsaw in 1926 and our first gasoline-powered saw in 1929. And not unlike the early automobiles of the Roaring 20’s, our chainsaws’ essential components – engine, bar and chain – remain familiar, though very much advanced, elements of our original chainsaw. Today, STIHL continues to put a high value on engineering and performance. That is why we custom design and manufacture our own guide bars and saw chains for all our machines in-house. This ensures optimal chainsaw performance in the field.

    This saw has great power.
I was going to buy the Stihl MS391 for it's power but the saw was to heavy and I decided to spent the extra money on the MS362 and I'am glad I did this saw has fantastic power and the weight is very light for the amount of power.I don't think there is a better Chain Saw out there that can even come close to this MS362,.buy it you will not be sorry. If you purchase a case of motomix Stihl 4 quarts minimum Stihl will double the warranty from 1 year parts and labor to 2 years parts and labor but you ... read more have to purchase that with the saw at the same time.

The 362 cuts wood like butter!
My sons and I went out to take care of a widow-maker last Sunday. We always take the old 026 with us, but I had a surprise for them this time. The day before I purchased a new MS 362 C-M to add to the arsenal. The old saw is sharp and runs well, but the saw went through the maple 3 times as fast. WOW! Anyone using this saw will not be disappointed. We intended to cut for about 45 minutes and return to the farm for lunch. Mom was a little upset when we came back 3 hours later. (She was pleased to ... read more see the boys so happy!)

a pro saw for joe everyman
I'm not a professional by any stretch, but I work this saw hard. Felling/bucking dead pine and aspen for firewood, cutting trees that have fallen across single track trails, etc. Haven't tried to accomplish a job yet that this saw isn't up to. It's my third Stihl, and probably as big a saw as I'll ever need. If you're out there wondering whether a pro saw is overkill for a regular guy, the answer is no. A great all around saw that makes any job more fun.

    Wow!
I am so glad I went with a professional model! I had several lower priced chainsaws in the past and they were toast! I have trees on my property that range from 12" to 24" OAK and Walnut and this STIHL melts right through them all. Chains lubricate well and the chains also wear nicely. One thing for sure that sets these saws above the rest is the ease of starting even when it is cold. I love it and feel great about spending this kind of money for a saw that will "GIT ER DONE!"

    amazing little saw!
this is an amazing little saw, iv cutt side by side with other professionals w/ bigger saws and this little thing will keep up with bigger saws. 'AKA' the little ripper. great fuel economy, its light, and this one come with floating gear set up instead of normal star sprocket. also much better because of this..from heavy to minor yard or household use to pretty hardcore field cutting, this saw can do the job well

    EXCELLENT CHAINSAW FOR HOMEOWNER/PROFESSIONAL
I own a MS261 CQ, the power to weight ratio is superior!! The QUIK handle chain break is a must for me, definitely a safety feature that I like. Serviceability, is made easy with the canister style air filter, and escaped bar nuts. Mine is equipped with a 20in bar, with a RS chain, WOW is the response from everyone who try it!! I LOVE MY STIHL!!!! We own STIHL EVERYTHING, wish they built cars!!

    Excellent professional saw
Our company owns many saws, in every size and power range, but the 461 is our go to saw. We put hundreds of hours on them and they always perform. We start them dozens of times a day for months on end. We run various bar lengths, but mainly a 20" bar with a .325 chain for building log homes. We perform every cut imaginable, and run the saw at very high RPM's. We also operate the saw upside down much of the time with no problems. This saw, and all Stihl products, will pay for themselves in no time.

    Best Saw I've Used
The MS 461 is by far the best saw that I have ever used! It is very easy to start, 1-2 pulls and its running, even when the saw is hot, after refueling. The saw is very powerful, Cherry and Locust are no match for this saw! Also, you get what you pay for

    Exactly what I hoped for!
Researched this saw for a long time before purchasing in summer of 2016. It's a true workhorse in a light, very powerful platform. I wanted a smaller saw to accompany my 361, but I end up turning to it all the time. It is a pretty amazing little saw. Never fails to start, very dependable, and comfortable to use. I think its a hidden gem in the pro series line up.

    Great little workhouse saw
I have 10 acres to maintain. I wanted something lighter for clearing good size fallen limbs/canopy cleanup. I also needed a more dependable starting saw. This is it.This saw also cuts like butter and doesn't feel under powered at all. Great

    Great Little Saw for Firewood
Was looking for a smaller saw to run with my 034 that I have had for 25+ years. Started looking and found this one. Plenty of power and lightweight too. Cut around 12 cords with this saw this year. My go to saw for bucking firewood. If this saw will last as long as my 034 I will never have too replace it. Love the M-Tronics. Saw fires up with in 3 pulls and no stalling. Great saw for firewood. No regrets for spending the money for this Stihl product.

Great chain saw and have recommended it to other people
I broke the chainsaw in when it was 11 degrees outside and it performed flawlessly, I am sold on that m-tronic technology, no more having to take time and adjust the carburetor when cutting. The anti vibration handle is also a great feature, after cutting all day my arms didn't feel like jello. If you heat your home with wood like I do and you don't want to be wore out at the end of the day after cutting wood, I would highly recommend this chainsaw. The saw also cuts through the wood very ... read more quickly with little effort.

    powerful wood cutter.
I cut firewood year around to burn & also sell. I use a 441 & for trimming a 211 to save my back. I owned two 441s & one 441c with m tronic. I like my 441 with mixture & idle screws. My first 441 had a throttle cable fray off it was used so much. The older it got the better it sounded & ran! I ran a 28" bar but that was to heavy & nose heavy for me. I like the 20" bar. It races right through anything! Just be alert & careful ,respect the power. The sound of it idling is really cool. Wear ear plugs. Chaps ect.

    Power Stick
I love this saw ! Anything that I throw at it, it eats it right up. This is enough power than you need to take down or cut up anything. I saw a lot of big stuff for my company . Huge coast redwoods, hard black walnut , tons of oak and fir, nothing can stop this beast. This saw is all you need trust me, you just have to know how to saw right along with it . It always starts right up for me and never have any problems. Just make sure you clean it after every use and don't let it sit . This saw is ... read more without a doubt worth the money.

Excellent saw but in need of an update
Excellent saw but in need of an update to maybe called the 881 with another 3 bhp. it is a very good saw and i use it most days but it dose lack a bit of power when the bar is deep into the timber when using the bigger guide bars on this saw. there are no other options when you need a big saw so it is easy for the Stihl ms880 to look good but im sure it wont be long before some other manufacture brings out a bigger rival unless Stihl bring out an up to date versions of the 880 may be a 881 ... read more sporting a bit more bhp and ft-lb of tuque. To sum up an amazing saw with nothing to compare it to from any other manufacture.

Awesome saw and a dream to operate!
I bought this saw about six months ago and have ripped through hundreds if not thousands of board feet of storm damaged red oak, white oak, hickory and poplar. it is not amazingly hard to start once you get a feel for it. usually takes two or three pulls in the all the way down throttle position and then move one up and another two or three pulls and it fires right up! i have found that warming it up a bit at say half throttle keeps it from cutting off numerous times. i do run high octane fuel ... read more and the new two cycle engine oil for all three of my Stihl saws.

This is a good saw but it is a handful
I just bought a ms 660 and a MS 880 some of my older saws was stolen the 880 is powerful it runs beautifully with it I purchased a skip chain a 41 and 60 inch bar I cut oak wood this monster goes through it like butter I had steel products for 10 years never had manufacturer defects but like anything else you have to maintain them if you want the least amount of trouble in the field if I had to replace them again I would do it the same choice
