    excellent saw
I've been using chainsaws since the 1960s and now at almost 70 years of age I needed adequate power with less weight. My 362C fits nicely. It"s efficient and fast cutting. Actually, it cuts faster than some of my heavier saws from years gone by. It starts easily and dependably, and is the safest saw I've ever had. With a 20 inch bar it's well balanced and will quickly process everything I need. I've had bad luck with off brand bar and chain oil, so I recommend using Stihl oil. If your saw will ... read more stay in the case for weeks or months at a time, use the pre mixed fuel; it's much more dependable.

Best saw I have ever run
This is a no nonsense saw. Do not buy this if you want to save a nickle and sacrafice performance. There are plenty of cheaper brands out there. They may even work decent "enough" for a time before breaking. I buy Stihl saws because they can run hard and dependable day in and day out with minimal upkeep. One such saw I have is nearly 15 years old. Oh, and it was a ranch saw which does not even come close to the performance of this pro saw even though they have the same displacement. For a ... read more serious operator it will perform beyond your expectations. It is truly the best saw I have ever run. Light weight and does everything my ms660 can. If you need a serious piece of equipment and are willing to spend a litle more money than at some big box store to get a way better saw then this may be the saw for you. Big enough to fell, light enough to buck. Does not seem to vibrate at all. I tried another brand priced 33% less and actually had my hands go numb; that saw also had more displacement than the 362 c yet it was still way slower. I sold it. Oh, and the 362 starts very easy. It is like pulling the cord on a weed wacker, very little effort. Stihl needs to add an expertise category, I am a licensed arborist not a landscaper.

    My Go-To
Day in and day out, this saw performs. With the stock powerhead, I can run 16" or 25" like a breeze. If you know how to tune a carb, there is no problem, even with the M factor, (computer). This is a great cutting saw! I run a full crew with a HT 101, 201 TC, 362 C, and a 661 Mag. Since I bought the new saws, (still have the old ones as back up,) I've never needed anything else. My go-to is the 362. This thing is a champ!

    Awesome Saw!
I haven't had too much time with this saw yet, but I was able to test it out. I dropped a pretty big tree with it, limbed it and cut it up in approximately an hour with this saw. It preformed flawlessly! It has a great deal of power and speed for a lighter saw. It is a lot easier to handle than my MS 441. I am looking forward to getting a load of logs so I can have some more fun with this new saw! I would definitely recommend this saw!

    lightweight smooth powerful
saw very easy starting great power to weight very well balanced and smooth just a comfortable saw to run . I like the capture nuts on the side cover that is a real nice feature .the tank covers are also nice. I worked for a tree surgeon in the 80s we had 09 to 090 stihl it is amazing to see the advancement in technology. this saw just keeps making power up to incredibly high rpm and stays smooth .it has great performance .

    My absolute favorite saw!
I bought my MS261 a few years ago from Hillside Small Engine in Lehighton. The very freindly and highly knowledgeable owner strongly recommended this model. My father has a small armada of about 10 saws and every time I borrowed one I kept going back to his MS260. After a few years , I have cut quite a bit of wood and this thing just rips right through it no matter what species. Very powerful, not too heavy and it really stretches a tank a gas. Spend the extra money and get it, you'll have a ... read more great saw for a long time.

Really easy to use with power to spare
Fantastic...even when pinched the chain keeps moving and gets you out of the jam. had it happen 4 times in a 32' felled tree. Powered its way out each time. Need or want power...this gives it all.

    What a huge difference!
I had only used homeowner chainsaws until I purchased this very powerful pro saw. I'm preparing to move to Alaska and I anticipate needing to fell some huge trees killed by the bark beetle. I'll also want to use this saw for milling boards with an Alaskan chainsaw mill. My neighbors huge oak tree just fell and we took turns bucking it into nice piles of fire wood. The saw was a pleasure to use and I highly recommend stepping up to a pro saw. I love the MS 661!

    Powerhouse
This saw is an animal. 36inch bar burried in an Oak and the saw pulled like it was wearing a 25inch bar in a maple. Crisp smooth power. A real head Turner when you open it up on a job site.. starts amazing just a great saw.

    What a beast!!!
Thanks to hurricane Sandy I purchased this beast to clean up around the property. Own many types and sizes of saws, but this thing is incredible. A little to loud but, the power and torque this monster puts out can litterly suck you into the wood you are cutting!! Super easy to maintain. The magneto/cooling fan actually forces air into the intake/carb. area(super charged!) A little heavy with 25 inch bar, can't wait till my 32 inch bar and chain arrive!!!!

Easy to Handle, has a good power band and user friendly
I do alot of firewood cutting for my house and selling some on the side. This saw holds up to all the needs of felling and bucking limbs. The new M-Tronic ignition and electronic carb is a great feature. The gas economy is pretty good for a professional grade saw. I have not had any issues with starting, as it starts with one pull when warm. When it's cold it starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull which is nice not having to pull and pull like the old off brand saws. Great saw, Stihl is the only saw I ... read more will use whether in the woods or at home. Thank you, stihl Justin

Great chain saw and have recommended it to other people
I broke the chainsaw in when it was 11 degrees outside and it performed flawlessly, I am sold on that m-tronic technology, no more having to take time and adjust the carburetor when cutting. The anti vibration handle is also a great feature, after cutting all day my arms didn't feel like jello. If you heat your home with wood like I do and you don't want to be wore out at the end of the day after cutting wood, I would highly recommend this chainsaw. The saw also cuts through the wood very ... read more quickly with little effort.

    Great little saw!
I needed a small, professional series saw for logging out trails and clearing fences. After having a baby the old 026 was feeling pretty heavy, but I can pack this around a fenceline and it has all the power I need. My coworker laughed at it at first--now it's the one he reaches for, and the 360 stays in the shop. This is the second year I've had it, and I love how it fires up every time. (And I'm not that strong anymore!)

    Great Little Saw for Firewood
Was looking for a smaller saw to run with my 034 that I have had for 25+ years. Started looking and found this one. Plenty of power and lightweight too. Cut around 12 cords with this saw this year. My go to saw for bucking firewood. If this saw will last as long as my 034 I will never have too replace it. Love the M-Tronics. Saw fires up with in 3 pulls and no stalling. Great saw for firewood. No regrets for spending the money for this Stihl product.

    Great little workhouse saw
I have 10 acres to maintain. I wanted something lighter for clearing good size fallen limbs/canopy cleanup. I also needed a more dependable starting saw. This is it.This saw also cuts like butter and doesn't feel under powered at all. Great

    Outstanding saw
This is a very reliable model and a beast of a chainsaw. I used almost every day, it's very easy to handle and has been easy on my body. Very easy to start and maintain, best of all it cuts through everything I throw at it with ease. This saw is probably overkill for the average user but a must for those who need a heavy duty reliable saw on a daily basis.

    Just an awesome saw!
Purchased the saw new in august with 28 bar". I have put through it's paces. The emerald ash borer decimated my trees. Long story short, saw hasn't missed a beat! 40 face on the fence right now! I love running this saw, and will add that it is less tiresome to run than my older MS 310. I can't wait to run the 20" bar on it. Erik

Amazing Chainsaw! Great power to weight ratio.
This is my most favorite Chainsaw to run by far. I'm so pleased with the power of this saw. It has low end torque that keeps it chugging in big wood. I run a 25" and a 36" bar and am amazed at how well it can pull a 36" chain through hardwood. This is a very well made chainsaw with strength without the weight. I have had no issues to date and predict it will be very reliable like my other Stihl chainsaws. The MS 461R is truly a woodsman's best friend. Oh yeah I almost forgot... This saw has good ... read more looks also. Great job Stihl!!!!
