Reviews

MS 193 T is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 119.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and powerful This is a great saw for climbing and trimming. It has all the power you need and is light enough so it won't fatigue you while working in the tree. Also it has some great features like the lanyard ring. It is small enough to be agile while in tight spaces in the tree also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible work saver! After watching an arborist use this saw dangling in a tree, I asked to try it. The balance, power, maneuverability and smoothness were overwhelming. So I bought one, and have come to rely on this as my go-to saw for everything short of felling 20" or larger trees. I'm a lot less tired at the end of the day. Incredible work saver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight little screamer Bought this saw last week. Have a Stihl extendable pole saw but needed something for in tree work. Starts right up on 1st or 2nd pull. Ditched the low kickback chain and put a yellow chipper chain on it. Rips right through 8 inch limbs like they're not even there. Sips gas and bar oil. Used it to also buck up some fallen limbs. Very manuveurable and light as a feather. Get one of these and you'll be as surprised as I was. Great saw at a reasonable price

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It might work as a boat anchor I had a decent review wrote out praising some points while bringing other points to peoples attention BUT the system would not let me post that one so I will say this ITS not the best saw I ever ran in a tree. It is unreliable and sitting on a shelf now after several return trips to the dealership. will never buy a sthil saw again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent, lightweight and agile chainsaw. A great, lightweight and agile chainsaw that helps prevent fatigue while trimming low branches, limbing felled trees and small trees and to clear large brush (like large lilac bushes).A great second saw to complement a larger saw. This chainsaw will also work great for urban homeowner use. The only con is the price. Despite the saying “you get what you pay for” this chainsaw is a little over priced in my opinion.I highly recommend this saw to anyone who understands the value of this chainsaw and how to get the best use of this chainsaw that will provide the best return on their money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light, compact I've been around chainsaws for awhile. About 7 years ago I bought my first stihl (ms461r) and since then I've added a couple more. The 193T was my last purchase. I got this little saw about 3 years ago for tree trimming, limbing, and bucking small logs. I couldn't decide whether to get a pole saw or a t handle. Came down to the fact that I wanted something light, and I can get into the trees with. I was hoping to become a tree climber at the time but a back injury/surgery changed my plans. I can still run this light weight saw today, even after my surgery. It's under 10lbs and is easy to handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable, powerful, and efficient. A real workhorse. I use this saw for in-tree work and have never been sorry I bought it. It's simple to use and easy to maintain. I would highly recommend this saw to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected! Bought this little saw for my wife. Thank goodness she lets me borrow it. It has a fairly short bar (12"? 16"? .. I forget) but really chews through 4-6" branches & limbs with ease. I initially thought it was a pain to start. Then I found the suggestion in the manual to kneel on the airbox to stabilize it. Problem solved!I couldn't be happier with this chainsaw. This is my first from Stihl and was hoping Stihl's reputation would not disappoint. It hasn't. I should mention that I'm kinda old (>75) and have no trouble handling this saw.
