    Good little saw
I have been in the tree business for a couple years and stihl is the only saws I would buy I got this 170 for an extra little saw around the house and it dose exactly what I would except out of this size saw but definitely out preforms competitors in same size great for around the house clean up and small tree removal starts with 4 pulls every time cold if you know the stihl starting procedure (not hard read your manual) and starts one pull if warm overall good little saw break in took 3 tanks ... read more of fuel then noticed a little more power I use this saw a good bit and has never let me down for what I use it for

    Awsome little saw
Bought it to cut down a couple hundred pine trees averaging 9" in diameter. Was using my big ms391, way to heavy. This saw is awsome. It'll cut my time in half at least

    power and dependability
I used my saw to top a tree in my back yard and several times I had to shut the saw off to change positions, and with the easy start I had no trouble restarting my saw.

    Great chainsaw for homeowners
I've not had the chainsaw very long but have felled, limbed, and bucked about 20 trees with it. Much lighter than my old Poulan. Stihl is a better brand and that comes with a higher price. Well worth it. The easy start function on this saw is fantastic. After spending 2hrs of cutting and manually hauling lumber in the summer, you can get tired quickly. Yours arms can be very tired and the easy start function doesn't require even half of the strength or speed needed to pull start a cold ... read more engine. Dependble, user friendly
I bought the 18" MS 211 to replace an aging MS 230, 16" unit. I liked the 230 and was used to the easy access gas, oil, easy start, and especially chain tensioner feature of the 230, which the 211 has. One improvement to the 211 is the easier tab to switch the summer/winter carb heat deflector using a finger switch. On the older 230, it was a few more steps to do this seasonal requirement. So far for routine homeowner duties like small dead trees, fallen limbs, limbing, high wind cleanup, it is ... read more a great choice based on modest weight and reliability.

Easy Starting, Nice Power, Good Balance, Relatively Light
I'm on tank 3 and so far and I've been pretty careful during the initial break in but the saw has been as advertised. The easy start feature is nice when you get use to it and the saw does a good job trimming and cutting through moderate sized timber. The tool-less quick chain tensioner is a plus as well. I looked at several competitor saws and seriously at one other major brand. The Stihl reliability, durability, service reputation and the 211s features were the final determining factor. This ... read more saw is a nice light/medium duty small saw and I'd recommend it as a home owner or ranch hand saw

    EZ start, Great features
Bought my 211 as a replacement to my Husqvarna which I had for many years. Made the change due to the EZ start feature which is fantastic. Had shoulder surgery and with the ez start, you simply pull the cord maybe halfway out and the saw does the rest. Takes a couple pulls to start but if you follow the directions for starting, it works every time. No more pulling and pulling to get the saw to turn over. Also the chain tightener is a snap and takes 30 seconds maybe to tighten the chain. All ... read more without tools. Cuts fast too for a mid size but will bog down if you try to force it.

Big Saw in a Little Package
I needed a saw for light firewood duty and occasional tree removal in a rural setting. I've needed it already twice to remove storm damage, and it keeps on going when my neighbor's Husquvarna quit on him. Although it is only a 16 inch bar, I've cut up a poplar and an oak tree that were around 20inches in diameter. It does an amazing job.

MS 180 for hurricane debris removal
Bought my new MS180 from my local ACE when my older saw refused to run. It started the first time, the second time and every time thereafter. It had enough power and dependability to facilitate removal of debris left by hurricane Irma. It seemed to slice through six and eight inch fallen branches better than my brother's saw, which was also brand new. I would recommend that anyone on the fence about whether or not to buy a Stihl, get off the the fence and get one. You won't regret it. I don't.

    Excellent for small property
I own a small amount of acreage and for clearing of small to medium size trees this saw is more than capable for the job. This saw is easy to handle and won't vibrate your hands numb like some other saws.

    Product has performed well
The saw has performed beautifully. Hurricane Irma provided a substantial Chestnut tree that the saw made quick work of. I also used it over 10 days of clearing 40' tall bamboo and it performed very well. I am very pleased with the power, ease of operation and reliability.

Great saw for a new home owner!
I bought my STIHL about 2 months ago when I moved into my new house. There were small to medium sized pines everywhere. The saw worked great taking them down! I'm sure it could do more, but I didn't need it to... not yet. I purchased my STIHL based on reputation and quality. I highly recommend it.

    Perfect saw for our needs
When we bought our new house, we were surrounded by acreage and trees. The saw I already had was huge and hard to keep running, that's how our search began. Our Stihl MS 180 C-BE is light and easy to wife is comfortable using it and doesn't need my help starting it. If you need a good cleanup saw for your property, I highly recommend this one.

    Cuts like butter
I bought this chainsaw for my home use. I selected this particular model because of the lightweight and for the quick, tool-less chain adjustment. I was able to trim my oak trees with branches diameters up to 12 inches. Super easy to start. Just make sure to set it on choke, give it a couple of pull and then set it to half choke and it'll start at the next pull or two. It doesn't come with a prime button so that doesn't pose a problem at all. I had researched on other brands and they seem to ... read more have so many toggles, buttons, this stihl only has a throttle lever and choke/run toggle.

    Rookie User Purchase
I am a rookie saw user, my dealer Dunn Hardware helped me understand my needs and directd me to a couple of options.
