A guide bar that has 30% less weight in comparison with STIHL ROLLOMATIC® ES Super guide bars.

Product Description

The STIHL ROLLOMATIC® ES Light guide bar has 30% less weight in comparison with STIHL ROLLOMATIC® E Super guide bars. To reduce weight, the solid bar (made of the same tough wear-resistant steel) is milled out and filled with aluminum to make it up to 30% lighter than the ES Super. The reduced weight improves the chainsaw balance and decreases operator fatigue, especially on longer bars. A replaceable sprocket nose assembly is also incorporated in the nose of the bar that carries the saw chain from the top to the bottom of the bar. This not only reduces wear, but also enables the bar nose to be made considerably narrower. This type of construction is an advantage where extensive use is made of the bar nose (i.e. limbing and boring). All STIHL ROLLOMATIC® bars designed with a narrow nose help reduce kickback tendencies. And the sprocket nose assembly can be replaced several times before the whole bar is due for replacement, increasing the guide bar’s service life.

Applications: For high-performance woodcutting with larger displacement professional STIHL chainsaws.

STIHL recommends using low-kickback, green-labeled chain and green-labeled reduced-kickback bars on all powerheads.

Note: The actual listed guide bar length can vary from the effective cutting length depending upon which powerhead it is installed.

Important Information

WARNING! The occurrence called “kickback” can cause serious or fatal injury. Always read the instruction manual carefully before using your saw. STIHL uses a green and yellow color-coding system to help you select a powerhead, bar and chain combination that complies with the kickback requirements of ANSI Standard B175.1 (gasoline-powered saws) and §30 of UL 1662/ ANSI Standard B175.1 (electric chainsaws). Ask your STIHL dealer about safe operating procedures and the advantages of the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake, STIHL Quickstop® Plus (Q) additional chain braking feature, STIHL reduced kickback bars and STIHL low-kickback saw chains.

STIHL recommends the use of green reduced kickback bars and green low kickback chains on all STIHL chainsaws.

* The actual listed guide bar length can vary from the effective cutting length based on which powerhead it is installed on.

WARNING! Improper use of any power tool may cause serious or fatal injury. Read, understand and follow carefully the operating and safety instructions in your instruction manual before using such products.

STIHL ROLLOMATIC® ES Light is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST Chainsaw Bar on the market, BAR none! After many years of timber falling, the old bones deserved a break. Stihl delivered! My old 066 Magnum was ready to be retired, so I replaced it with a new MS-661 R-CM. I viewed the Rollomatic ES Light bar skeptically, but decided to take a chance.I outfitted this saw with an 8-tooth sprocket and chose the 32" bar length. The balance of this saw is better, even though I had a 28" bar on the old 066 Magnum! I'm turning wicked chain speed with that sprocket set-up, too. It screams! This bar has superior hardened steel for longevity.I decided to buy a lighter saw, as well, rather than pack a heavier saw around all day long. So, I bought an MS-362 C-EM and outfitted it with a 20" Rollomatic ES Light. When you pick it up, it is perfectly balanced fore-and-aft at the handle!Double the pleasure; double the fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 25” Rollomatic ES Light- Balance Form & Function I’m currently running a 25” Rollomatic ES Light with an RSK chain on my 661 R C-M saw. It’s balanced and easy on the back (when compared to a regular weight Rollomatic bar). Honestly I was hesitant to go longer on the bar length when I ordered it but after using it, I will step up the size on it without worry about the weight. The bar itself is exactly what you would expect on a pro saw product. Well built and ready to go do a lot of work!! The fact that it looks good on the saw does not hurt things either!! I’m extremely happy I made the decision to get the ES Light Weight Bar and was impressed with the difference and the quality! Highly recommend this one to anybody!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best product I have ever bought. Well worth the money. I've had my STIHL MS180C chainsaw for a year now and I haven't had any problems. Runs great! So happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightest and strongest I fall timber for a living and ran several types of bars especially the light weights on steep ground and the Stihl light bars are the best they last they are not floppy and throw chains when your limbing fast or back baring your face cut and I think they feel lighter then the other brands in the same bar length it's the best of both worlds the strength and ridgedness of the regular bars without the weight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Once you go LIGHT, you might say "A'IGHT!" I will seriously never buy another standard bar again!!! While the LIGHT is more expensive, it IS 100% worth the price!!! I was running my 661 with a standard 28" Bar and it never really felt heavy to me... until the end of the day when the 97° heat and costal Southeast humidity caught up with me. Now, I'm running my 661 with a 28" ES LIGHT. Man, what a difference! It feels like I'm only running a 20" bar! I'm kind of mad I didn't switch a few years sooner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for the serious wood cutter I bought a 28 inch ES Light bar for my Ms 460, It would usually be wearing a 20 inch b / c for most of my cutting. In working some recent storm damaged trees that were all tangled up, I wanted some more reach to keep my distance, but also wanted to keep the saw well balanced. The 28 inch bar made the work so much easier, great balance, increased reach without leaning over, durable, somewhat rigid, no flexing with added bar length.Typical Stihl quality is evident through out, metal, welds, paint are all top notch.A little pricey, but if not abused, the bar should last a long, time and offset the up front extra cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes limbing and bucking alot easier Started using this 32" .50 gauge bar on a 461 falling mainly fire killed trees in the Central Sierra Nevada forests. I was a bit skeptical at how flexible this bar was thinking it would bend easy but have found it is holding up well for all the falling, bucking and limbing work I have put it through. Have a few thousand trees into it so far and have alot more to go but I like the lighter weight on the bar tip which makes limbing easier. I will likely change over all my bars over here soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the 044 with rollomatic es lite bar i have been a timber cutter in northwest washington for 20 years . i run a hopped up 044 with a 32'' es light bar . i love the power of my saw . and the relieability is hands down over outher makes . the reason that i run this combination is that i have had two back surgerys on my low back . wich makes working even harder . so weight plays a very large part .
