Our log peavey features a strong spike at the end for great control over log-moving maneuvers.

Product Description

Like the cant hook, the STIHL log peavey is an essential day-to-day forestry tool used for the turning of heavy logs or dislodging them from entanglements. What sets the peavey apart is a strong steel spike at the end of the handle. This gives you greater control of the movement of the log. Available in 42", 48" and 60" versions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top quality Peavey I have the 48" peavey, which I have found to be just the right length for my needs. Short enough to carry conveniently or stash on my tractor or UTV, long enough to provide the leverage needed in most of my situations. These Peaveys are made for Stihl by Logrite. They have perfected the design to come up with a peavey that grabs well and grabs reliably and will stand up to rough use. I'm normally a big fam of wood-handled tools, but I made an exception in this case. I've probably

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have!! This tool is worth its weight in gold and a must have!! The log stand should be included though... not only is it great for rolling and holding logs off the ground as you cut them up but it also saved me from a major problem while trying to fall a massive dead tree... after I made all the cuts in the trunk the tree started to fall then the top got caught in surrounding canopy causing the trunk to slip off the stump and free stand the entire tree on the ground!! After a few min of trying figure out how to solve my little problem I realized my peavey was there, so I put it on the trunk and was able to spin the tree (with ease) allowing it to break lose from the snag in the canopy.. without the peavey i would have been screwed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Bet You Won't Break This One ! My old Peavey had a wooden handle that was dry rotten. I remember hearing it crackle during it's last few uses. Old or new, would you want to take the chance of one of these snapping off while jacking over a log that weighs multiple-times your own weight? That is a formula for serious injury. This Stihl (steel) 60" Peavey will last a lifetime & still won't break even if you use a "cheater" pipe as an extension! I do recommend the 60" Peavey, although it is available in 42" & 48" models as well. This tool is invaluable for turning logs to complete limbing, bucking, decking, or dogging them off to wire rope for skidding. They assist in keeping your Chain Bar out of the dirt.If you are cutting logs into firewood lengths, I recommend purchasing the optional Log Stand which bolts on to the head of your Peavey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Indispensable tool Before I begin, I will say this. Yes, there are cheaper peavies out there, but they are just that, cheap. This peavey offered by steel is made here in the USA. That matters more and more to me these days. Quality is first and foremost in deciding what I should spend my money on. Stihl is synonymous with quality, and their products have never let me down. The Stihl peavey's quality and strength will be known as soon as you see it in person and hold it in your hands. It makes moving heavy timber and lumber a breeze. The handle has to be 2 inches in diameter with a nice foam grip that is around 18" long to give you plenty of area to get the best grip. The hook is mounted to a reinforced collar that is welded onto the tool's main shaft, and it is secured with a grade 8 bolt and lock nut. The point is blunt, but I am sure that is for shipping safety and store liability. It is nothing a file or grinder won't cure in a few minutes if you need or want really sharp.I use this tool a lot in conjunction with my MS660 magnum for milling with my chainsaw mill. I don't know how or why I waited so long to get this. It sure simplified moving rather large logs into position to mill 33"x108"x2" slabs of spalted red maple. I highly recommend this tool if you're having to move heavy rounds, logs, or cants if need be. It will save your back, your energy, and make your day easier along with helping you to get more done.
