    Good machine; temperamental starting
Positive: once you get it running, it's a powerful and smooth beast. Negative: it's often hard to start. Beware: our dealer put gas in it and ran it before delivery; I suppose to make sure it ran okay. Several months later, I pulled it out for its first use. I pulled the starter til I was exhausted. Took it back to the dealer, who asked me if I had run the original gas out before I put it away. No...nobody told me I needed to do that. Well, that's required as stated in the manual and any ... read more problem resulting from that is not warranted. So they charged me for cleaning it. Thankfully that's all it needed. But the dealer should have advised me at purchase time.

    Plenty of power
Saw cuts like a dream. Plenty of power. No bogging. Noise is not to bad. Haven't had it long but so far it's a quality saw. No complaints as of yet.

    EATS WOOD
I bought the MS311 debated between that and the MS291. I went for more power because it was only $30 more, I was concerned about the weight, of the MS311 but it was very easy to handle, did not get tired overtime. The extra weight helps cut through big trees faster, just let the saw do the work. This saw probable cuts a 20 inch diameter tree in 15-20 seconds, UNREAL EATS WOOD.

    Beast!!!!
This saw is a beast!!!!! This thing eats logs, with any chain. I have a 18" bar and it goes through a tree without a problem. I've used a green chain and a yellow, doesn't matter it will cut through it.

    perfect small saw
perfect little saw. super lightweight. starts every time within seconds no matter if it's 20 degrees below zero or a miserable 95 degrees. This saw has plenty of power. if you think this saw doesn't have enough power you are doing something wrong. I use it for much more than I should from limbing anything, bucking medium sized wood, to felling small mountain harwood trees up to 14-16" diameter when I'm too lazy to take out a big saw. I used it ealrier today to buck some beech logs that were ... read more about 15" diameter. sharp chain and it cuts like a hot knife thru butter. my favorite saw I have ever owned. I've had it for about 3 years and haven't had any issues after about 300 hrs of use.

    Perfect small saw
Have a MS210 w/16" and MS210 w/20", but as I approach 70, needed a smaller saw to use more. I have 8+ acres with lots of trees, and the need for a saw is often. Got the 193 C+E for light weight, starting ease, and maneuverability. Great choice for me in that it does what I ask , when I ask, without falter.

    Work all day---extreme light weight!
Purchased in early December 2013. Fantastic pruning saw! I have 56 acres of woods to maintain and have 17 other Stihl saws. None can do what the MS150 C-E can do. That is allow me to run tank after tank to do pruning work and not slow down. I am replacing my 1996 023 that still runs great after about 1500 carving hours. The MS150 is about 6 lbs lighter. The MS 150 C-E will also be used for carving.

    Absolutely awesome!!!
This little saw cuts faster and smoother than any saw in it's class. It will out cut many bigger saws and it is a dream to use. I have five of these saws, three top handle and two back handle. We use them trimming apples and cherries.

    Perfect for clearing brush
I was tired of holding and maneuvering a 18" chain saw in thick brush for hours at a time. This saw looks like a toy but works like a pro. It cuts right through 3" diameter Yaupon Holly in seconds. I love how easy it is to remove the oil and gas caps.Only complaint is that it wont engage the chain if anything (even a small stick) is touching it. A safety feature???

    Well thought out design.
This saw has many little features that make it very user friendly and easy to maintain. From the single control lever for starting and running, to the laser etched reference guides on the chain, and the air bypass for preheated air for cold operating temperatures. I have blocked 20+ cords of pine with this saw so far and I have had no issues to date.

The MS 391 is the perfect saw for me.
I purchased this saw new in August 2014. It replaced a tired saw that I have had since the early 90's. It will be used primarily for firewood. I cut mostly Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir. This saw is a beast. I run a full skip chain on the 25" bar. I can fill it up with fuel, drop a tree, and cut enough 15" long rounds to fill the 8' bed of my F-250...and still have about half a tank of fuel. It starts easy, cuts fast, and is a pleasure to run. I think this is the perfect saw for me.

    Quality built Product
I am comparing this product to a 35 year old Pro Mac 700, so this may or may not be a fair comparison. A little disappointed in the power for a larger saw, had the 25" bar and chain installed at the dealer before purchase. Once its running, its a smooth cutting saw. Have run several tanks of gas thru it now, and am a little surprised at how finicky is is to start, especially after a warm refuel. Like the one quarter turn caps on the fuel tank and the oil tank, and the foot hole on the rear handle.

starting it up I like how you don't have to struggle to start it
I think it kicks back a lot more than my other saw

    Great lightweight saw
This is a great power to weight ratio saw. The M-tronic works much better than expected. I've buried the bar in a huge ash and it buzzed right through it. The saw is actually a pleasure to cut with and is a great compliment to my MS 270. It is expensive, but the power to weight ratio is unrivaled.

Excellent power for a light weight saw
I use this saw regularly for clearing blow downs on the hiking trails where I might be carry the saw and all my other gear five to ten miles. I too also own a MS-261 for this purpose and carry it when I know there will be lots of bigger trees. The 201 cuts great as long as the chain is very sharp. The small teeth do dull much faster than the teeth on the larger saws. I always carry two extra chains for this sort of work so dulling is not an issue in the field. In addition to be lightweight ... read more and powerful for its size, it is also very quiet and vibration free. This is a great benefit to those of us (like myself) who do not saw on a daily basis. There is one major drawback to this saw. If you get the bar and chain stuck in a tree (this is always a concern when clearing blow downs that are loaded in every direction) the bar and chain cannot be removed without first removing the external clutch mechanism. This requires removing the spark plug, immobilizing the piston, and then unscrewing the clutch. The MS-261 has an internal clutch so it is not an issue on my other saw. I would recommend this saw without reservation except for this one concern.
