    Excellent saw
I have had 2 saws in past, a stihl and another top brand. Both were great, but the stihl outcut the other. This stihl takes a few more pulls for the first start than the first one (farm boss, in late 70s) but I am using it at 8 to 10 thousand feet elevation. People who have trouble starting .....try ethanol free gas. It makes a big difference. 2 strokes don't like ethanol. Easy to maintain, a bit heavy... but I am 150 lb and 70 years old. Still lays the wood down faster than the grandkids can carry it away.

Like a hot knife through butter
A few of my friends have a Stihl. And they love them. I went the cheap route and got what I paid for. It was great for 2 years then it turned to a pile. I said. I've had it with that (specific brand) and I'm getting something that will last almost forever . So I bought the farm boss ms-271. We have a lot of hard woods on our property and I was impressed how fast it cut through Oak at least twice as fast as the 50cc I had prior. The name stands on its own. That's all you need.

Runs hard and cuts even even harder. Very pleased.
Dads 038 mag was a heck of a saw. I loved that thing. Long sad story short she is still running but not on our farm. Picked this haus. Fired it up on 3 pulls (the way stihl should) had a BIG hickory down and my farm boss was too small. This hog ate that tree. So proud of my new saw and welcome it proudly to the stihl family in the barn. Thank you stihl for making a quality that I can count on.

    ms391 i'm i love with this saw
i love this saw from the beginning. I have always owned cheap saws until now. it has to be started with a routine, but that's ok. it starts for me every time. it pulls like heck though oak and hickory on my 11 acres. this is the most amazing saw for me. reliable powerful fast cutting easy starting for me.

Light weight, easy all day handling
Bought this saw for my wife to use based on it's weight. I have used it on multiple occasions to cut down/trim up to ~12 inch diameter trees and logs. I utilize the ethanol free premix fuel. Saw fires right up hot or cold and it is easy to handle. Runs out of fuel at a perfect 'take a break' point for me. All in all, a great little chain saw.

    Perfect for around my land.
I have been clearing trails and thinning out areas throughout my property to make it accessible for my kids to enjoy. I have an MS 311 which is great for felling but gets heavy when walking through the woods and up and down steep grades cutting as I go. This saw has worked great for everything I have needed it for thus far and is light and easy to use. I'm very impressed.

    Good saw for the money,
Cuts excellent, lite and manageable to handle. Only complaint is that from time to time when the trigger is released, the saw will die. This is especialy notable if the saw is operated at a mid range rpm briefly and the rigger is abroply released. One pull the cord will immediately restart it. When operated at full rpm it runs like a champ and cuts threw oak, ash and locust up to 8" thick with ease. Other then the stalling problem it is a great little saw ideal for limbing and trimming.

Excellent power for a light weight saw
I use this saw regularly for clearing blow downs on the hiking trails where I might be carry the saw and all my other gear five to ten miles. I too also own a MS-261 for this purpose and carry it when I know there will be lots of bigger trees. The 201 cuts great as long as the chain is very sharp. The small teeth do dull much faster than the teeth on the larger saws. I always carry two extra chains for this sort of work so dulling is not an issue in the field. In addition to be lightweight ... read more and powerful for its size, it is also very quiet and vibration free. This is a great benefit to those of us (like myself) who do not saw on a daily basis. There is one major drawback to this saw. If you get the bar and chain stuck in a tree (this is always a concern when clearing blow downs that are loaded in every direction) the bar and chain cannot be removed without first removing the external clutch mechanism. This requires removing the spark plug, immobilizing the piston, and then unscrewing the clutch. The MS-261 has an internal clutch so it is not an issue on my other saw. I would recommend this saw without reservation except for this one concern.

    Excellent light weight saw!!!!!!!!
I worked the saw all day. I used it for limbing up of about 40 trees I dropped using my ms 261 CEM(another great saw). This saw has very sharp chain and was very maneuverable in some thick clutter from the dropping of the trees. Features I like: 1. Light and very compact 2. very very easy to start 3. no vibration feature doesn't shake and jar you 4. easy to handle in tight quarters. 5. cuts without wanting to back down I haven't tried it on the large stuff yet up to about 1 to 10 ... read more inches. This saw is probably how the new saws will be coming out in the future. Little saw with a powerful punch. Throws large chips never had problems with oiling. highly reccommend

    Superb for my specific needs!
My Stihl MS201-C was a purchase I researched for some time. Being a relatively new model, there were not many reviews to help me in the decision process and those I did read were not all super but detailed enough that I could tell those who felt the 201-C didn't meet their expectations were really used to or comparing to a previously owned model. My requirements were that the chainsaw would be easy to start (Easy2Start System), rugged yet light, dependable, and manageable maintenance needs. The ... read more additional (Anti-Vibration) feature really does make this saw a pleasure to use as it minimizes the fatigue brought on by muscles and bones being stressed. Think smooth operation for the hands, arms and shoulders. The other features (Read the Manual) were additional bonuses. I never thought I would find a chainsaw that made cutting cedar almost fun but I do enjoy the work more now with this saw. I do clearing of property and trimming every week and this saw fits my needs.

    Excellent product!!!
We purchased the MS-311 after talking to our local dealer. Given the sze of our property he recommended the larger MS-311. We previously borrowed another brand from a friend and it had difficulty starting at our house which is at 7300'. I told the dealer where we located and they adjusted the engine to the higher altitude, 1800' above the dealership. They even offered to come up to the house if there were problems. We have about 30 hours on it now and it is wonderful. It starts everytime with ... read more 3-4 pulls when cold and 1-2 when warm. We have since purchased a Stihl weedeater/brushcutter and blower. All great products and well worth the money.

Wokrs Geeat, less tiring than my older 310
Since I finally dropped a tree on my MS 310 (don't ask), I bought a new 311. With the grip isolated from the engine and chain, it is much less fatiguing. I have dropped tress up to 83 feet tall with my 311, cut them to length for my wood stove, and filled my pickup without straining my back. At 68 years old, that makes for a VERY GOOD DAY! When I needed a new saw, I was asked what brand I wanted - there is only one - STIHL !

    Can't get a better saw!
I went through several Home imrovement store chainsaws which lacked power and dependability. After buying and returning two new saws that could not cope with the bitter winter temps I decided to stop playing and went with this. I was immeadiately impressed with its power and its being problem free. Cold temps don't cause issues. In fact having owned this saw for several seasons now I have yet to find any circumstance where it didn't give me everything I asked of it. One thing though stock up on ... read more spare chains as with the amount of wood this will go through you will want sharp chains on hand.

    Work all day---extreme light weight!
Purchased in early December 2013. Fantastic pruning saw! I have 56 acres of woods to maintain and have 17 other Stihl saws. None can do what the MS150 C-E can do. That is allow me to run tank after tank to do pruning work and not slow down. I am replacing my 1996 023 that still runs great after about 1500 carving hours. The MS150 is about 6 lbs lighter. The MS 150 C-E will also be used for carving.

Great power and price for a small saw
This small, lightweight saw is absolutly perfect for the land owner who has lots of down limbs, and limbs that need to come down "widow-makers". Living in Missouri where we get our fair share of ice storms, this is an invaluable tool to have. It's lightweight, compact size, and great power is a perfect combo. Another great product from Stihl. I will never own any other brand of chain saw.. I also own a Farm Boss from Stihl which is perfect for the bigger jobs, but this is the one I reach for ... read more more often than not. Thank you for another great tool, at a reasonable price.

Never fails, no trouble starting and running for extended periods of time.
Best saw on the market "Bar" none. Years ago after making a major purchase of several saws and brush cutters Stihl came to our workplace, FOC, and provided a safety and cutting demonstration. We all thought we knew everything there was to know. How wrong were we. The info they provided we still use every time we use one of their products. Stihl's safety PPE is above standard as well. Helmets, chaps, cutting pants and shirts are a must for our operators and have in fact saved staff from serious ... read more injury. I cant say enough good things about your products.
