    Best chainsaw I've owned
At 67, I have owned several chainsaws through the years. All of which seemed to work well initially, then problems started to pop up causing consternation and delays. Reading up on Stihl products they certainly seemed to be what I needed, even though the cost was a bit more than the others. Folks I must say I wish I had made the decision to purchase a Stihl years ago! Best dang chainsaw I have ever had the pleasure to use. Their "easy start" system REALLY works! Their anti-vibration system keeps ... read more your hands from getting worn out. The saw just walks right on through everything I have cut so far including oak and hickory. Buy it!

    Power to spare
I bought this saw following a severe storm in the area. I had many trees down. This saw is a littl eheavy to do limbing all day but it cuts like a knife in warm butter through the big oak, pine and sycamore tree trunks. It was still going strong when I ran our of steam.

    Perfect small saw
Have a MS210 w/16" and MS210 w/20", but as I approach 70, needed a smaller saw to use more. I have 8+ acres with lots of trees, and the need for a saw is often. Got the 193 C+E for light weight, starting ease, and maneuverability. Great choice for me in that it does what I ask , when I ask, without falter.

Light weight, easy all day handling
Bought this saw for my wife to use based on it's weight. I have used it on multiple occasions to cut down/trim up to ~12 inch diameter trees and logs. I utilize the ethanol free premix fuel. Saw fires right up hot or cold and it is easy to handle. Runs out of fuel at a perfect 'take a break' point for me. All in all, a great little chain saw.

Small stud holding bar and cover on into thin plastic molded fuel tank!
This is the first STIHL chain saw that I purchased that I use for climbing trees on the weekends that works for me. The saw has worked flawlessly until recently when cutting some limbs off and the chain jumped off. After looking onto the problem, found that the stud holding the bar and cover on pulled out of the plastic mount {it is approximately size of a 5/16-18 bolt but metric}. Took it my local STIHL dealer and said it is a common problem that they can't fix so I fixed by taping the hole out ... read more to 7/16-14 and making a new bolt on my lathe. But the plastic molded around the stud is very thin with little support in the fuel tank. Good luck on your decision. Bill

    Great, dependable big saw
I got tired of working on the 20-30 year old Stihl saws we were still using and broke down and got this saw 3 years ago. If I would have known how good this saw was I would have bought a new one years ago. I use it to fall trees and cut up the trunks of the tree because it is big and heavy. If you have a sharp chain and know what you’re doing this saw will cut threw any size tree on its own. I have a 20’ and 25’ bar and chain and it runs both with ease.

    Farm BOSS
Bought a ms391 to replace another brand chainsaw that was wore out and under powered for amount of work I have been doing. The first day out I wish I had bought the stihl to start with, so much less work and effort to drop trees and then cut them up, just lay it on the wood and press the gas. After you get over the sticker shock of buying a stihl you will happy you spent the extra money. I always thought stihl was overrated and that all the name brands were close, that doesn't apply to chainsaws I've found out

    Cost effective muscle
I have owned a Stihl MS 290 since 2008-2009. I put that saw through anything and everything i could. In January 2018 i decided to buy a new Stihl saw. I wanted so bad to buy a MS 362, but i just didnt have the cash. My local dealer guaranteed i would love the MS 391. So I bought it. The day i bought it i put it to task. Now 12 months later i still love this beast. It is full of power and loves about anything i put it on. If you are not a pro, and a budget must be kept, this is your saw!

Never fails, no trouble starting and running for extended periods of time.
Best saw on the market "Bar" none. Years ago after making a major purchase of several saws and brush cutters Stihl came to our workplace, FOC, and provided a safety and cutting demonstration. We all thought we knew everything there was to know. How wrong were we. The info they provided we still use every time we use one of their products. Stihl's safety PPE is above standard as well. Helmets, chaps, cutting pants and shirts are a must for our operators and have in fact saved staff from serious ... read more injury. I cant say enough good things about your products.

Great power and price for a small saw
This small, lightweight saw is absolutly perfect for the land owner who has lots of down limbs, and limbs that need to come down "widow-makers". Living in Missouri where we get our fair share of ice storms, this is an invaluable tool to have. It's lightweight, compact size, and great power is a perfect combo. Another great product from Stihl. I will never own any other brand of chain saw.. I also own a Farm Boss from Stihl which is perfect for the bigger jobs, but this is the one I reach for ... read more more often than not. Thank you for another great tool, at a reasonable price.

    Sweet saw for pruning trees.
I own 3 other Stihl chainsaws. They all serve a purpose, but I really wanted a lightweight saw running a thin kerf chain for fine pruning, especially on fruit trees. I have owned a couple of orchards, and found they made much finer pruning cuts than any other chainsaws. This saw fits the bill perfectly! The cuts are very smooth and even, they look as good as if they were done with a hand saw. The saw is exceptionally light and well balanced. The motor has sufficient power for the fine cuts I ... read more make, but I thought it would run with a few more RPM's. (I am going to have the dealer double check the settings after I have some more hours on the saw). While I love the saw and highly recommend it, I do think it is over priced.

    Superb for my specific needs!
My Stihl MS201-C was a purchase I researched for some time. Being a relatively new model, there were not many reviews to help me in the decision process and those I did read were not all super but detailed enough that I could tell those who felt the 201-C didn't meet their expectations were really used to or comparing to a previously owned model. My requirements were that the chainsaw would be easy to start (Easy2Start System), rugged yet light, dependable, and manageable maintenance needs. The ... read more additional (Anti-Vibration) feature really does make this saw a pleasure to use as it minimizes the fatigue brought on by muscles and bones being stressed. Think smooth operation for the hands, arms and shoulders. The other features (Read the Manual) were additional bonuses. I never thought I would find a chainsaw that made cutting cedar almost fun but I do enjoy the work more now with this saw. I do clearing of property and trimming every week and this saw fits my needs.

    All in One Super Saw
Great for what I use it for, cutting brush. Also can cut up fallen trees. Just be patient on large limbs and trunks. Let the saw cut through itself. I cut up a 18 inch diameter fallen tree yesterday. I have put app. 100 hours on the saw. Great saw mainly for brush, but can cut bigger stuff. Lightweight. I can use it all day. If cutting cords of wood or large trees as your primary use get a larger saw. If needing a universal saw with the main use smaller stuff, get this one. I love it. Cost is ... read more high, but I have found it well worth it many times over. With 16" blade I don't have to bend over as much or reach into the brush as far to cut. I would buy this again in a minute. I am now looking at a bigger saw because we have many downed trees. I will then have 2 Stihl saws. In the immediate family we probably have 10 Stihl saws. Very happy family.

    Great lightweight saw
This is a great power to weight ratio saw. The M-tronic works much better than expected. I've buried the bar in a huge ash and it buzzed right through it. The saw is actually a pleasure to cut with and is a great compliment to my MS 270. It is expensive, but the power to weight ratio is unrivaled.

    MS 291
My 291 has performed well. I seems to have plenty of power to get the job done. My only disappointment so far is that the front bar tightening bolt stripped out. I was told by the dealer that it is threaded into the plastic part of the case. Therefore you must be careful when tightening or it will strip. The dealer fixed it by installing a larger stud in the housing. Apparently, this is common, because he had them in stock and fixed it in a few minutes. I'm not sure what the remedy will be ... read more should the larger stud strip.

    Dependable and well built saw
I have been using Stihl saws for over 40 years. I still have my original O41 and occasionally use it. Runs great! The MS 291 is a dependable midsize/ mid weight saw that handles well and does what I ask of it. I only wish it had a compression release so it was a little easier on my 69 yr. old wrists. I have a pro model 36 with a release and it makes a difference. I sorta miss the torque of the old Stihls but not the smoke or weight. Keep your saw clean, sharp, use quality mix, fuel, bar lube, ... read more and it will not let you down. I would recommend the 291 as a fine all purpose saw.

    No complaints
The original unit purchased with 20 inch bar unfortunately turned out to be a dud and after 6 months completely replaced by Stihl with a new unit to the original specs. No complaints about the Stihl service. I just got the legendary lemon. The second unit was what I expected on the initial purchase. Ultra reliability, solid performance and very tough. I bought the MS 291 to supplement an MS 170 when I started carving up bigger trees and it has completely lived up to expectations and I am glad I ... read more stuck with Stihl. Chainsaws are not something I want to buy from a box store.
