    A real powerhouse
This battery operated chainsaw is amazing. It easily slices through logs that bogged down my old gas powered saw. I routinely cut 20" logs with this and never lack for power. Run time varies depending upon how hard I work it, but I get at least 45 minutes. Battery charge time is 50 minutes, so with two batteries I can saw all day. After cutting 8 cord of wood, there have been no breakdowns. However, the pico saw chain does dull fairly quickly. The saw is slightly heavier than a similar sized gas ... read more saw, but the balance is good so the extra weight is not noticeable.

    One outstanding chainsaw
I purchased this item along with 5 other lithium ion battery tools about 1 month ago. We had a severe thunderstorm hit our area the other night and the tree damage was worse than when Hurricane Sandy hit. The msa 200 worked flawlessly. It cut thru various size branches as big as 6 to 8 inches in seconds. Not only was the saw outstanding, but the battery life of the 180 was awesome. I was outside all day without going thru one battery. I purchased this saw with a 12 inch blade. I wish I had time ... read more to make a video to show how well the lithium powered saw worked. Kudos to stihl.

    Great tool, needs better chain.
I bought 6 different Stihl battery powered tools (push mower-RMA 510, chainsaw MSA200c, hedge trimmer HAS 66, line trimmer FSA 90R, pole saw-HTA 85 and blower BGA 85) plus three batteries and one charger, to maintain about an acre of land with grass, bushes and trees. The chainsaw MSA200c has been a good tool. Light weight, well balanced and plenty of power. The downside has been the chain. It's a very light weight chain and loses its edge fairly quickly. It only takes about 8-10 cuts of ... read more 10'-12" diameter size pine tree logs to lose its edge. Each chain is expensive and I now have keep about 5 around to cycle through to have sharpened. The battery last much longer than the chain. Over all a good tool and would recommend it, but needs a better quality chain.

    Perfect Power for its Size
The size of this chainsaw is a bit on the smaller side, but when you need to trim limbs or clean up messes after a storm, it is perfect for the job. I have used it several hours on one charge. The key is to use it for the cut and then stop. Continuous use pulls the battery down faster. However, I have been pleased with how much I get out of the battery. It keeps going, and the last cut is just as powerful as the first.

    Excellent mini saw
This saw very under rated! I have cut & trimmed trees & limbs up to 20” in diameter! Did have to recharge battery every 45 min of use. Also since I only have 1battery would have to put in freezer for about 10 min after use before I could charge! Just finished cutting down full size tree 30’ high x 20”+ trunk! Not recommended but possible! I had to recharge 6 times! And no issues with chain!! FYI for all you very skilled operators just KEEP chain out of dirt!

    Tough Little Bugger
I told my husband that I was interested in an electric saw for a couple of reasons, the first being that we have a yard with some pretty stout trees that I didn't feel comfortable using his gas powered saw to trim up with. The second was that I wanted something small enough to put in the back bag of my 4-wheeler to deal with trees that fall across trails etc. without the chain saw being too large or deal with gas/oil sloshing all over the place. This little guy handles all of that. It's user ... read more friendly, light weight and gets the job done. Love It!!

Performs Much Better Than I Planned
This little chain saw, although expensive when compared to gas powered, does a great job on small to medium sized trees. I have not tried it on a large tree yet, but it seems to have a lot of power. I spent the whole day cutting small trees and clearing brush and the battery went the whole day without a charge! Wow. All you need to do is make sure the chain oil level is kept up and you are good to go. I really like this saw. The dealer did not give me a manual with the saw, which was ... read more disappointing, but there is one on line. I recommend this saw (if you can afford it) - no fuel and oil to mix. The breaker bar can throw you off - I thought it was out of juice one time and it was just that the breaker bar was activated - hard to tell it was activated - maybe it should have a beeper or something to let you know. Not sure why it needs a breaker bar - it does not act like a gas powered saw in that it does not take a long time for the chain to come to rest.

Excellent saw that is easy to handle
I am proud of my chainsaw purchase. I am migrating from gas powered to battery operated as my machines wear out. I was concerned that the battery chainsaw would be much weaker than my gas saw. I was wrong. I am not a lumberjack or work for a tree company. I just do work on trees around the house. This saw is MORE than adequate for my needs. I even went and bought the pole saw trimmer. I can do what would normally be a two hour job in fifteen minutes with it. My Stihl equipment is great and I ... read more would not buy another brand

Very well thought out and designed, the saw-battery-charger-and chain, excellant.
A pleasure to work with, no ethanol problems, the saw is quiet, very well made almost no vibrations, and combined with the new 1/4" 43 gauge chain the saw cuts and bores very well, with most applications the battery lasts longer than a tank of gas. I also have the option of working indoors, and in a suburban setting the neighbors love the saw too. I also like the fact that the saw is much easier to maintain, no air or gas filters,no mixing oil and gas, no spark plug or smoke during idling, no ... read more carb adjustments, and no oily mess on the muffler and saw, all I need to do when im done is blow off the chips with my compressor, wipe off the sprocket area as usual and mount a new chain. I have two MSA 160 saws, I also use standard 1/4" RMS chain. For precision pruning, firewood, storm clean-up or Carving, it's outstanding, I love my saw!

    Safest Chain Saw Ever
Yes, this chain saw cuts very well, is light and the battery lasts and lasts. But I love the safety feature. When you cut down a tree, you trim off the limbs, but the limbs have many branches that need to be trimmed. So you walk up, over, and between felled limbs and branches, all the time with a live chain saw in your hands, (and hope you don't trip). No more. This chain saw comes alive only when you use it. After each cut, you release the trigger and turn it off. To me, this is a huge, huge ... read more factor. And it will cut through some good sized limbs quite easily. Among my 6 Stihl products I have an MS 250, MS 361, etc. But this little chain saw makes tree work (I have 5 acres, fully wooded) so much easier. You don't have to start and re-start your gas-powered saws...this little booger will instantly come alive and cut.

Great saw without the maintenance & problems of gas powered units.
Bought this saw to prune my live oak trees and it does a real good job. Didn’t want another gas powered tool here in Florida. I was reluctant to get a battery powered unit but it is great and has plenty of power to do my jobs. I have a 40+ year old Homelight chainsaw that is gas powered but it needs work every time I go to use it. The battery powered STIHL is ready to go and may only need battery charging before using which is simple and only takes about an hour. I’m very happy with this saw!

    Nice little saw
This is a great little trim saw. Great for cutting limbs and small trees. Nice to use when a larger gas saw is too much. Super sharp small 1/4" Picco chain cuts great but the saw is not a powerhouse so you can't rush it. I wanted a small battery saw to take with me if I get my big saw pinched. Also nice to put in the back seat of my truck without the normal gas smell when checking storm damage.
