    Great tool, needs better chain.
I bought 6 different Stihl battery powered tools (push mower-RMA 510, chainsaw MSA200c, hedge trimmer HAS 66, line trimmer FSA 90R, pole saw-HTA 85 and blower BGA 85) plus three batteries and one charger, to maintain about an acre of land with grass, bushes and trees. The chainsaw MSA200c has been a good tool. Light weight, well balanced and plenty of power. The downside has been the chain. It's a very light weight chain and loses its edge fairly quickly. It only takes about 8-10 cuts of ... read more 10'-12" diameter size pine tree logs to lose its edge. Each chain is expensive and I now have keep about 5 around to cycle through to have sharpened. The battery last much longer than the chain. Over all a good tool and would recommend it, but needs a better quality chain.

Lots of power, especially for occasional use
I don't need a saw for everyday use, but want one that runs when I need it. I use a saw for downed limbs, or taking down dead limbs, not for taking down trees. So far this saw is perfect for that, with lots of power, enough run time for the projects I have tried so far, and the ability to turn it on and off when needed - no idling a gas saw, no restarting a gas saw because it died while I moved something. I wasn't sure a battery powered saw would have the guts needed, but I have not been ... read more disappointed. Start up cost was helped by already having other tools using the charger, but I still think total startup cost for saw, battery and charger is worth it for the performance.

    An Impressive Battery Saw!
I purchased this saw for my wife to use for limbing trees and lighter trimming on our property. We were both very surprised at how much power and cutting ability this saw had... for a battery powered saw. It's lite enough that she can handle it with ease, ~11 lbs with the battery, and a single charge will limb several trees. We upgraded on the charger to get the quick charge option, and it's very convenient that the batteries are fully charged before we need them as the battery life/run time is ... read more impressive. The tool less maintenance is also beneficial as we can grab the saw, an extra battery, and some bar oil and head off in the woods for hours... no tools or excess equipment to bring along. I would definitely recommend this saw to others, lightweight, powerful and fast cutting. A bit pricey, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Very versatile for smaller jobs and excellent for in the tree trimming
It took a 1 1/2 hours to fully charge the lithium ion battery and locked securely in-place when inserted into the tool. I filled the oil reservoir to the top with Stihl premium bar oil but before using the chainsaw, I prelubed the bar and chain to keep them protected before the self oiler would actually apply lubricant to the chain. I'm glad I did this because after doing about 5 minutes of cutting I noticed the chain was getting dry. I removed the bar and surmised that there was no oil coming ... read more out of the oil orifice. Leaving the bar and chain off I used very small wire and carburetor cleaner too begin poking and prodding the opening and finally got fluid to flow out of the oil reservoir. Without doing this I would have surely destroyed the bar, chain and sprocket on this Saw. The chain is very narrow and cuts wood like a hot knife through butter but make sure the wood is dirt free and don't even think of nicking a nail.

    My goto saw now
I've owned a Stihl farm boss for many years and have always loved that saw. However, I wanted a light weight saw for trimming trees and other small projects around my property. I was planning on getting one of the lightweight gas saws when I saw this. It was more than I wanted to spend by the time you add in the battery and charger cost, but I couldn't be happier. I almost never fire up the boss anymore. I cut down and cut up multiple 8-10" diameter hardwood trees on a single charge. Not only is ... read more it quiet enough that you can use it in the wee hours without bugging the neighbors, but it's way more powerful than I expected. Also, the battery lasts longer than I do. Very happy with this product.

Excellent saw that is easy to handle
I am proud of my chainsaw purchase. I am migrating from gas powered to battery operated as my machines wear out. I was concerned that the battery chainsaw would be much weaker than my gas saw. I was wrong. I am not a lumberjack or work for a tree company. I just do work on trees around the house. This saw is MORE than adequate for my needs. I even went and bought the pole saw trimmer. I can do what would normally be a two hour job in fifteen minutes with it. My Stihl equipment is great and I ... read more would not buy another brand

    Perfect Power for its Size
The size of this chainsaw is a bit on the smaller side, but when you need to trim limbs or clean up messes after a storm, it is perfect for the job. I have used it several hours on one charge. The key is to use it for the cut and then stop. Continuous use pulls the battery down faster. However, I have been pleased with how much I get out of the battery. It keeps going, and the last cut is just as powerful as the first.

    very versatile saw
Light weight, easy access under bushes/brush, operating time on battery is pretty good and can make quite a lot of cuts on a charge. Happy with unit in clearing off a acre plus of heavy/thick brush. It is on the pricey side for a small saw, in comparison to the much bigger/powerful gas powered saws. C.D. Zook

    Great saw
I was very skeptical at first and then I used it. Like others have said, don't underestimate this saw. I can cut 3-4 small limbs before I can start a similar sized gas saw. Its small enough to keep behind the seat of my tractor. I'm mostly doing brush and small tree clearing and its perfect. Definitely recommend this saw.

    Wonderful product
I have had this saw for 6+ Months, in that time I have cut down and then cut up hundreds of trees mostly 10in or less. The runtime is good it's easy to use and fast charging I got the saw with 2 batteries so if one dies it's not a issue. I would recommend a battery powered chainsaw to anybody. You can cut stuff larger then 10 in however it uses the battery faster. If you need a saw get a battery powered one. I'd love to demo any new ones of these saws they just work so well.

    Safest Chain Saw Ever
Yes, this chain saw cuts very well, is light and the battery lasts and lasts. But I love the safety feature. When you cut down a tree, you trim off the limbs, but the limbs have many branches that need to be trimmed. So you walk up, over, and between felled limbs and branches, all the time with a live chain saw in your hands, (and hope you don't trip). No more. This chain saw comes alive only when you use it. After each cut, you release the trigger and turn it off. To me, this is a huge, huge ... read more factor. And it will cut through some good sized limbs quite easily. Among my 6 Stihl products I have an MS 250, MS 361, etc. But this little chain saw makes tree work (I have 5 acres, fully wooded) so much easier. You don't have to start and re-start your gas-powered saws...this little booger will instantly come alive and cut.

Easiest to use chain saw ever
this battery powered chain saw is the easiest to use chain saw ever; I'll never go back to the 2-cylce saw, especially now that I'm retired. I have no hesitation to go out and cut a branch because the saw is so easy to pick up and to just "go". Battery charges fast.

No fuel mixture, ease of use great power
Bought it in December and only used it once and I'm in love with this chainsaw. I have owned gas powered ones before, do not like noise and fumes.

    This Saw Will Cut
I bought the MSA 220 because I wanted a more powerful electric chainsaw that could handle larger trees on my farm. I have taken down over a dozen trees between 12" and 24" diameter with the saw. This is a legitimate replacement for gas saws. Battery power is a limit - this is not going to run all day or even for hours. I get about 15 minutes of working time on an AP300 battery. As long as one has several spare batteries, this works great.
