Just the thing for light work
We recently bought a piece of property that had been logged about 10 years ago, so the re-planted trees aren't that big yet. But there is a lot of downed wood and we wanted to make a path through the underbrush. The battery powered saw is perfect; lightweight, but cuts very well. Bought an extra battery so we don't have to stop in the middle of the 20 acres and work our way back up to the house. I'm disabled and my wife is pretty small, so this works great for both of us.

    Great for the homeowner
I previously owned a gas stihl chainsaw for years. I made the switch to all the battery powered stihl tools so that my wife felt more comfortable using them. She refused to use the gas powered tools. After purchasing the chainsaw I was completely blown away. I have already used the saw for about 15 hours cutting down 7 dead trees on my property. The saw works very well and has handled everything thrown at it. This saw has all the power that a homeowner would ever need. The only regret you ... read more will have is that you didn't buy it sooner.

    Sooooo Easy!
I rarely take down big trees anymore but with nearly 5 acres with about 4 wooded, I am constantly trimming. It is so nice to pop in the battery and go. I get lots of run time. Seems I can go a full hour on a charge. The other thing is that there is no noise I can go out early in the morning at dawn and work without disturbing any neighbors. Absolutely love this product.

    Nice little saw
This is a great little trim saw. Great for cutting limbs and small trees. Nice to use when a larger gas saw is too much. Super sharp small 1/4" Picco chain cuts great but the saw is not a powerhouse so you can't rush it. I wanted a small battery saw to take with me if I get my big saw pinched. Also nice to put in the back seat of my truck without the normal gas smell when checking storm damage.

Wanted something light weight to complement my farm boss and climb ladders with
Bought this to do some large limb cleanup after the recent storms in the north east and was not sure if it would fit my needs. It did, was able to make pretty quick work of the limbs (4- 5 inch diameter) and was a breeze to cut the smaller stuff. Took it up a ladder to cut a stuck tree with probably a 8-9 inch diameter and was able to do it one handed. The charge lasted through the whole process and it felt like it lasted about the same as my farm boss before it needs gas. So far so good!

From a professional point of view
As a professional arborist and owner of a 33 year old company I do know chain saws. This little saw is really nice and has a place in my arsonal of saws. I keep this one in my pickup all the time just in case I need to make a cut. There are a lot of positives to be able to just grab and pull the trigger. Of course it is not as fast as a gas model chain saw, though it cuts quite nice.

    My goto saw now
I've owned a Stihl farm boss for many years and have always loved that saw. However, I wanted a light weight saw for trimming trees and other small projects around my property. I was planning on getting one of the lightweight gas saws when I saw this. It was more than I wanted to spend by the time you add in the battery and charger cost, but I couldn't be happier. I almost never fire up the boss anymore. I cut down and cut up multiple 8-10" diameter hardwood trees on a single charge. Not only is ... read more it quiet enough that you can use it in the wee hours without bugging the neighbors, but it's way more powerful than I expected. Also, the battery lasts longer than I do. Very happy with this product.

    A quiet and powerful saw
We had severe thunderstorms pass through northwest Ohio last night (6/23/13) and I lost the top of my hybrid poplar tree. At 6:00 am on the 24th I was cleaning up the tree damage without waking the neighbors. The MSA 160 C-BQ saw was powerful enough to cut up 5 and 6 inch branches with ease and it was remarkably quiet. In an hour's time the clean-up was done and I was on my way to work at my regular job. What a great little chain saw! Thank you!

    Good tool!
A dependable small chainsaw without the noise and stench. Well balanced, light enough for one hand stretch work. No cord to pull, easy on elbow and shoulder. It taught me its own trigger dance: You want to speed it up all the way before the cut and keep it fast for all the cuts you have lined up. Not the squeeze-squeeze for every cut. It tends to choke up on fine twiggy stuff wrapping around the sprocket which seriously eats power . Maybe some baffle or cover redesign might help. I love ... read more it. Stealth chainsawing made real!

Using to clean brush in woods and works great
Really like the saw in cleaning brush out of woods. Very handy to set it down, pull brush to pile & grab saw and cut more by pushing switch, plus light weight and manuvering in brush. Some what pricey compared to gas saws and run time is limited to about 40 minutes with recharge taking roughly 4 hours. I also have a gas powered Stihl MS 290 for the heavy duty sawing and like it very well also. Overall I like the saw for what I am needing it for. Would be ideal for average home owner..

    very versatile saw
Light weight, easy access under bushes/brush, operating time on battery is pretty good and can make quite a lot of cuts on a charge. Happy with unit in clearing off a acre plus of heavy/thick brush. It is on the pricey side for a small saw, in comparison to the much bigger/powerful gas powered saws. C.D. Zook

    Excellent mini saw
This saw very under rated! I have cut & trimmed trees & limbs up to 20” in diameter! Did have to recharge battery every 45 min of use. Also since I only have 1battery would have to put in freezer for about 10 min after use before I could charge! Just finished cutting down full size tree 30’ high x 20”+ trunk! Not recommended but possible! I had to recharge 6 times! And no issues with chain!! FYI for all you very skilled operators just KEEP chain out of dirt!
