    More information

  • STIHL Easy2Start™
The STIHL Easy2Start™ system makes starting STIHL® outdoor power tools almost effortless, eliminating the need for a strong pull of the starting cord. This advanced starting system is designed to make starting STIHL® products fast and easy. The specific system may vary by model, but in each case, a quick pull overcomes the engine’s compression to minimize the strength and effort required to start. Available on selected products.
  • Anti-Vibration System
The STIHL anti-vibration system helps reduce operator fatigue and provides a more comfortable working experience.
  • Multi-Function Control Handle
Having easy access to all of the controls on one comfortable handle makes it easy to complete tasks so the operator’s hand never has to leave the handle.
  • Electric Start
Electric start system engages with the press of a button on the throttle so those maintaining large properties can begin leaf cleanup quickly. Allows users to stop and start unit while wearing the unit on their back, saving time on starting procedure.
  • Purge Pump Primer
The purge pump primer feature enables the user to prime the carburetor with fuel, enabling easier starting. The purge pump primer is designed in a way that the operator cannot flood the machine by priming the carburetor too many times. Flooding the engine is still possible if the choke is not removed after the engine fires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love my 450c Originally I was frustrated with my 450 electric start, it was hard to start and one day just never fired up after 20-30 attempts. Took it to the shop and turns out the spark plug cover had come loose. The cover and cable is a terrible design, you pull it off and the cable will come out of it's terminal, got to try your best to put it back where it's supppsed to go which is hard so God forbid, do not touch this, ever. Starts well ever sinceIt has a pull start chord but I never use it. The battery always holds enough charge to start. Prime bulb 7 times, full choke attempt to start (which is only to get fuel into the carb) then one or two goes on half choke and it's away, all on the battery. I'm hoping this starting mechanism holds up over time but mine's been good so far using it multiple times most days across different jobs. I really love being able to shut off when I need to, then safely start at the push of a button without removing the backpack. Fantastic! It is loud.. I feel bad sometimes using it but that's what you get with a big 2-stroke engine unfortunately (sound reminds me of a big outboard boat motor) The emissions are bad and you can smell it quite often. Again, big engine, can't do much about it. It really burns through fuel.. (yep, that big engine again) I get roughly 1hr at full tilt before refuelling the 1700ml tank. Power wise, it's pretty well perfect. Not too over the top and definitely not under, it really blows some air. I wouldn't use anything less for commercial or larger block stuff, normal home owners could get away with something smaller. This pushes sticks, gumnuts, decent piles of leaf litter etc well. I love the telescopic tube, adjustable handle, they're good. I don't really love the auro pilot throttle, it always gets loser as you go and you end up constantly holding your thumb on it anyway to hold it full. Would be great if it stayed in place. The weight isn't too bad, love the overall look and do love the blower, it's awesome but for quieter operation I'd possibly look into the bigger 4-stroke series, though they don't offer electric start

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy the electric start is a waste of money Biggest waste of money I have ever spent the electric start only works 2-3 times on a full charge and a charge may drain overnight so you end up pulling it most of the time then we you go to pull it sometimes doesn’t pull right because the gears for the electric start are in there and the the thing is brand new and I have to pull it 10 times to start another disappointment from Stihl I say I am not going to buy Stihl again then I do and I just get disappointed time and time again

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great blower! I wanted to get a new blower for around the house and decided that I didn’t want another box store unit. I did a ton of research and own stihl weed eaters and chainsaws. Since I have a ton of oaks on my property, I initially went to purchase the BR 600 but after talking with the sales person I decided to give the 450 a shot. It has more than exceeded my expectations. Very very powerful blower and handles the yard debris in minimal time. No more raking the yard for this guy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blown away Okay this is what I needed, this machine blows leaves better than anything I have owned before. I am very happy with this machine It has cut my yard work down immensely. But the best feature is the restart as between my neighbor, my wife and my kids interrupting me the restart has been a God send. Thank you Stihl.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product What's not to love about the electric start - it's wonderful!! Maybe a little heaver than most but one must consider the weight of the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Starts easily This blower is great. I live in a rural area with lots of leaves and I have no trouble with clearing them. Also easy to start and light enough to easily put on my back. Thanks for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is dynamite! it will cut your leaf problem time in half. there is no comparison to any other type blower! I have always wondered if there were a leaf blower that really worked well. this is it...the electric start is a must....it cuts my leaf time in half. it is heavy at first but good exercise is the plus side to the extra weigh. I wish I had bought my 450 c-ef years ago.
