    starts great
the string does not hold up at all. This is the stihl string. I put a different brand into it and it did do better. Next I may go up in string size and see if that takes care of the problem. I have 2 of these and the green Stihl string is useless because it breaks too easy.Other than that the trimmer starts and runs better than most trimmers I have used. If the string would not break so easy it would be 5 star and fantastic..............Joe

This Product is a awesome machine at a reasonable price.
This lightweight and durable string trimmer is excellent for not only use around the home but also keeps up with everyday use as in small businesses. Overall an excellent product. Only downfall is the new head on the string trimmer with the two equal pieces of string. I really don't care for it.

    Great trimmer
Bought this trimmer to replace my 10 y/o trimmer that broke down. Started after two pulls, ran it for three hours through three feet thick grass and weeds. Did not bog out at all; did not stall. Refueled and started right back up. I am 5'5" and this trimmer is the perfect size for me. I think my 6'5' husband would have a difficult time using because of the curved and shorter shaft. I love this trimmer already. I also have Stihl's blower that I've used for the past two years and have never had to ... read more pull more than three times to start.

    Outstanding product for the money.
This is by far the best trimmer out there for the money. I have put this trimmer through things that other "comparable brands"have failed at. If you are looking for quality trimmer and don't want to spend a thousand dollars, look no further.

This makes the job much easier.
Can be attached easily and puts some of the weight on your shoulders so you can move the trimmer with more control.

    7 year review
This is the strap that came with my FS 85 Pro when I purchased it. Not one issue with the strap, it stays adjusted and the quick clip is like new. When I use the trimmer on my 2.5 acres it tends to be a 2 hour deal. Lots of trimming plus I edge my 300 foot concrete drive with my FS85. The strap is wide enough to support the trimmer for extended periods, eventually I will switch shoulders the strap is on. Also included in the workload is using the mini cultivater when needed, using the brush ... read more cutter blade on the bigger stuff as needed and using the pole pruner attachment for trimming branches. This strap still handles all the work I throw at it. Highly recommended!

    Awesome Cleanup Tool
We run 3 of these on FS90's for lawn cleanup in the spring up here. Up here in Alaska the plows push piles of sand and gravel out onto the lawns. These sweepers literally throw this sand wherever you want it to go. Will throw sand, gravel, pebbles. The only thing is the fs90's are a little week for these beasts. Would reconnect this to any landscape company in a snowy area where the plows scrape half the driveway onto the lawn.

It's way, way faster than a rake!
I have this on an FS90R.This is as small a machine as I'd put it on, the power is adequate for this attachment, but certainly not over powered. It's pretty heavy, some comments have that as a con, but I see it almost as a pro, the weight works for you while it's running. You don't have to bear down on it, just let it's own weight do the work. It can be set up to either throw whatever you're moving, forward, away from you or back toward you like a regular rake. If it's set up to throw stuff ... read more forward, when you come back for the next pass, just tickle the throttle a bit, and it'll run right back to you, no lifting needed. I wondered how it would affect the grass, and it doesn't bother it a bit, just kind of lays it over for a little while like a regular rake does, no harm done. If you have large chunks of sod from the snow plows it doesn't do well with that, maybe if it's set up to pull it might do better, I haven't tried it that way yet. All in all, I'm very happy with it, very happy indeed. Stihl makes an excellent product, I highly recommend this especially if you're doing a lot of spring clean up.

A Message from the Concept Designer
With thousands of hours logged in operation of Stihl FS-series Brushcutters, I found the first & second generation Harnesses lacking in durability, particularly where the Brushcutter attaches to the Harness. The Clip was prone to premature failure. Comfort suffered because no pivot provision was provided for at the backstrap. This resulted in a condition where one shoulder bore the brunt of weight of the Brushcutter resulting in operator fatigue. I took it upon my own to contact StihlUSA Product ... read more Development and presented them with a concept design of what a truly great harness should be. My concept was then submitted to the product engineering folks who developed the end product you are available to purchase in 2019 for the first time. This is the culmination of a nearly decade-long process. No single harness will be perfect for every end-user, but this one is intended for the larger FS-series units being used in the most arduous conditions for hours upon end. I am not a Stihl employee or contractor. I am just another consumer, just like you, who wants a quality product that will get the job done. My thanks go out to former-StihlUSA employee Sebastian S., corporate HQ in Waiblingen, Germany, & the product vendor in Sri Lanka. This company listens to it's consumers!!!

    Best
I just bought this 3 weeks or so ago. And used for the day and find it to be the most user friendly & comfortable . It take all the weight off your arm and you can cut for hours.

    99.9% Great harness
Very comfortable and maneuverable. The flap pad slides on its sling strap so you can easily reach out or pull back with the trimmer. That makes it great for hillsides. The only place this harness misses the mark on is the tool clip height adjustment. Stock, it requires removing it and fiddling with the strap and hoping you get it right. I fixed this by attaching a simple buckle from a 1” tie down strap to the breast plate with some zip ties. Now with the push of a button and tug of the strap I ... read more can adjust the hook height on the fly.

    Doesn't stop!
Cut out my 200 ft fence row of overgrown sapplings, some of them upto 3" using the chipper blade.. In about 20 minutes! My previous trimmer was the FS45.. A good trimmer, but not fit for heavy use.. When cutting sapplings, I wanted something that would cut through them without flinching, and not bog down. This trimmer is it. I have owned it for almost 30 days now, have got more done on my place in the last few weeks than I have in the past 6 years! Definitely not a purchase I regret!

    excellent power
After reading reviews wanted 240 or 311, found 240. starts easy, runs good, lots of power. the grass cutting head is terrible, small stems or heavy grass kept burning the line and causing several rethreads (7) in 1 hour. might be the string from factory? for the price expected more. will try new string tomorrow see if better. may need to get metal blade ? Overall like the design and power

    A Beast
Just cleared some trees off my lot. With no canopy left, a lot of undergrowth has developed, weeds, local grasses and some things I have never seen. Tried my older string trimmer but to no avail. Went to my local Stihl dealer in Mt Jackson, VA, told him my dilemma and asked a few questions of the proprietor and he showed me all the trimmers that could tackle my job. After demo-ing several, showing features and benefits, I decided on one model. I took it home and in less than 2 hours, ... read more accomplished what my old trimmer could not put a dent in. Would recommend to anyone these Stihl products and would encourage anyone local to Mt. Jackson to visit this place. Cannot find good customer service much any longer.
