Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't believe it. I've only used my new hedge trimmer a few times but to my surprise, it still doesn't need to be recharged. The battery has four indicator lights that show the amount of discharge. I've used the trimmer on about 50" of bushes and it hasn't even dropped to the second indicator light. I've never seen anything like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I am a chainsaw carver with 15 years experience, full time. I was super leery of battery products after a bad experience with another company. This saw and battery are flat out amazing. Recharge time is 55 minutes (just timed it). Run time is something above 35 constant minutes (up to 50), depending on how hard you push it. This large battery increases the cordless saws weight to the point that its actually heavier than a ms 193. So if you are thinking light weight... not really. The only ouch is the price. For that kinda money (for JUST the battery) , you could buy a ms 170. Add the charger, the saw itself and you could buy several gas saws. Is it worth it? Well, for me it is because I can carve indoors and much more quietly at events where noise is an issue. Also... I can't ship the battery (which is why I bought this saw in the first place, so I could bring it back from overseas). the battery is too large in watt hours to be accepted on the airline as well. bummer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 50 charge cycles proves its worth I'll have to admit after 45 years of running gas saws I was skeptical of these new fangled battery tools, well I'm no longer skeptical.I've run this battery through 51 charge cycles now, getting a good 90 to 100 minutes of cutting (saw time) on each cycle depending on the wood.I've kept a tally sheet attached to the AL 500 charger and will continue to do so just to find out how many full cycles I can get on a battery powering the MSA 200c saw. It's not a cheap battery, but the time I've saved buying fuel, and mixing fuel has made this purchase worth it.I'm selling two of my remaining 4 gas saws and buying another MSA 200 saw and battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Batteries that provide power and prolonged performance Have this battery for a year now and wow, does it perform. Running hedge trimmer, lawnmower and leaf blower. The run time is awesome with all the tools and the quick recharge time ensures that I can help my neighbors, if needed. Use tools every week during the gardening season so the battery is getting a workout and have not noticed any drop in performance. The charger is automatic so it shuts off when finished, conserving electric and providing a safety margin. Snaps into and out of all tools and even has power level lights that work. I have been a 2-cycle guy for over forty years and have really learned to hate mixing fuel and storing it in garage. No more pulling starter cords. Make the change for quiet & convenience, you won't regret it for one second.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Batteries Don't Last I have had 4 of these batteries already, and 3 of them have flunked out on me. Way too expensive to throw away batteries every 12-24 months. Might be better off buying the cheaper tools at HD or Lowes...at least I know they have good batteries that constantly crap out and are more readily available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First purchase This was my first Stihl purchase. I am very pleased with the additional battery purchase I made. It has a longer life than I expected. It is also lighter weight than I thought it would feel after a few hours.
