Jake Brandspigel - Product Services Supervisor
Jake Brandspigel has been a STIHL fan his entire life. Some of his first STIHL memories involve begging his parents to take him to the local dealership, just to look around.
"Going back to when I was about 7 years old, my parents tell me that was always my favorite place in town. They said that was the place I always wanted to go, and just see the equipment and all the lawnmowers and all the chainsaws."
When Jake turned 13, his father suggested he apply for a weekend job with the local STIHL dealership. He got the position, and worked every Saturday morning and weekends throughout junior high and high school. When he went off to college, Jake continued to pick up jobs at local engine shops or on golf courses. When he graduated with his degree, he was offered a job working at STIHL Inc. headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA.
"It just really fit, it made sense. I knew this was a company that made great products and I wanted to be a part of it"
Jake has now worked at STIHL Inc. for almost a decade. As the product services supervisor in the technical services department, he is commonly out in the field working with customers, Dealers and engineers to continually improve STIHL products. After nearly ten years, Jake still looks forward to going to work each day.
"Working at STIHL has always been more than a job, it’s been a career. It’s been a constant development. It’s been different opportunities in different parts of the company, working with different people, but we’re all part of one big team."
Jake jokes that he’s still considered a newcomer among STIHL workers, many of who have made a lifelong career out of their time at STIHL.
"There are so many people that have been here so long because it’s such a great place to work. We make an awesome product and we all have a good time together doing it."
